Fixed my MFC-7360N with this video. You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar.

sadly this solution did not work for my 7360N. I replaced the part but the old part did not appear broken. i wonder if one of the other parts is broken or faulty, like the little motors or wheels. if someone else has similar issues but were able to fix it, please send me a note

Thanks for this! I found a new-looking 7860 at Value Village for $20. I could plug it in and I displayed the error and paper would get stuck going up. I found your video and bought it. Ordered the part on Amazon. Hopefully all will work!

I replaced it but it keeps popping back :( it sets in place then pops back out of place. I confirmed the old part was broken where you showed in the video. Can you provide any other help here?

Adding to the chorus - I’ve had and been very happy with my HL-2280DW for many years. It started having the paper error and all I had found was to push the white tab over manually, which would always fix for just a short time. I followed the directions in this video and voila - the printer is fixed! Thank you so much for providing this resource.

This worked for my Brother MFC-7860DW that a friend gave to me. Thank you! I bought the spare part on Amazon for 9 dollars

Thank you so much! I had another brother printer that I broke the glass on, so I took the part of out of that one. That part was also broken either by me taking it out or it was ready to break. Anyway, the tabs to both pieces were still hanging on but not totally broken, so I glued both back together with gorilla super glue and let them dry over night. The first part was a no go; it didn’t work. I tried the next part just in case, and I’m back in business!

Thanks, after ordering the feeder cam lever and replacing it, my paper tray now works again on my Brother MFC-DW7860. Just had to make sure to push that little white plastic tab into the curved black part on the printer shown at 2:21 by applying pressure on the feeder cam pushing it towards the rear of the printer.

Thank you sir..I checked everythign on my printer including cleaning the rollers, removing the cartridge, verifying paper size, checking the settings and nothing worked. Until I saw your video on the little white button on the side..whatever that button does must affect the sensing of paper..it worked! thank you much!!

My feeder cam lever was definitely broken. I just got the replacement piece and put it in successfully but the paper is not feeding. The spring seem little loose holding the new piece in place. If I hand move the feeder wheels, the one that actually pulls the paper (I think)..the small wheel just above the new piece does not move. Any suggestions? Maybe the part I bought on Amazon was inferior. It seems just like the one I pulled out.

Thanks man! I've been using this printer for 11 years and for the last year it has been difficult to print without needing to open / close or fiddle with the paper stack after every page. Then I came across this video and disassembled the printer to look at the cam and it was broken. Waiting for the replacement part now but I'm quite sure this will fix the printer. It's a great printer, I've been using it over a decade and printed thousands of pages with it. I'm sure it will last even longer now! Thanks for this video!

I have a Brother HL-2280DW with this problem. Unfortunately, the white paper feed tab that you reference here is very difficult to pull out. Do you recommend I pull it with force or have another method to pull it out based on your recommendations? Thanks
