The happiest and healthiest Phals I’ve ever seen! Some of those monstrous plants are stacked with leaves- I’m curious to know your fertilizing routine! 🌱👀 Thank you for sharing your beautiful collection.

Thank you for your kind words and welcome to the channel! To answer to your question, I fertilize with every watering all year round. Since the watering frequency is reduced in winter, the amount of fertilizer the orchids receive is naturally reduced as well as a consequence. The fertilizer I use is made up of 5 parts of MSU fertilizer and 1 part of BetterGro Orchid fertilizer. The dose is 1 tsp/gal of water. I use tap water, which in my place has a TDS of about 350 ppm and a PH of about 7.5. My 'home made' fertilizer lowers the water's PH to about 6.5. About half an hour after the watering, I then flush the pots with just tap water to prevent salt build up. I water only when it's warm and sunny and the plants are receiving direct filtered sunlight, to help the leaves dry up fast. I hope this info may help you with your orchids as well. Beautiful phalaenopsis plants. They also bloomed at the same time. You must be a long time grower with this orchid type.

Indeed! They are my first and most loved genus. I got my first Phal around 25 years ago, though I have been growing them more successfully since I came to SoCA, about 10y ago. Here I have more space, large windows, and wonderful weather, which helps a lot! Thank you for visiting my channel and for your kind comment!
