Thanks for the suggestion. My first reaction is that that would be easier, since the underlying software already knows the position. The key element is differentiating Mack from the other players. I will look into it.

The main component is Keynote, Apple's presentation application. It has animation called Magic Move as a transition between slides. It powers everything, including spreading the dummy. The pictures representing the cards reside off screen until the transition takes place. I program this with Applescript running from a Filemaker Pro database. It could be done with the Keynote application interface, but would take days to implement, which is why I script it.

It was the weak distribution and spade overcall that influenced me. In high card points, the hand is worth more than a minimum bid, but I wanted to hear what would happen next. There is much that can go wrong after a stronger bid. If the hand is worth only a part score, 2 Hearts is the winning bid. With the opponents bidding. I don't know how you could consider 2NT. That is the bid that is ridiculous. 2 Hearts is a serious underbid, but I have had good luck in these Weekly Free events with tactical underbids or overbids.

@@mr.mackplaysbridge7350 too be honest you should just open 2nt and not worry about qx of diamonds. 2nt would show 18-19 points and a spade stop and you have a 20 count and a spade stop. I feel like your bids are anti-bridge..but each to their own i guess.

@@johnworf The Qx of Diamonds is not the problem. The problem with 2NT is that if the correct contract is in diamonds, 2NT won't get you there. I usually prefer approach bidding to opening where the robot partner makes all the decisions.
