dang my normal go to is also the P77 but seems like its not getting so much love from Remo and I heard they may discontinue it soon. I may have to look into the P4 head after seeing/hearing this vid. I usually run mine cranked on my 13x7 G Maple SLP from Tama and my 14x8 SLP black steel from Tama, and it sings with overtone but still has a solid smack/thud. Love it. This head sounds great as well on your Vinnie Paul-like snare :)

Would you say that the crashes are “rideable” for jazz? I blind bought a used dream vintage bliss crash ride and I’ve never played a washier unrideable cymbal. Just don’t wanna make the same mistake twice

I wouldn't recommend it for jazz. For jazz stuff I like to have a ton of stick definition and while this cymbal has some when used as a ride, I don't think that's really the best way to use it. I suppose it also depends on touch. I usually play fairly heavy handed for uptempo jazz stuff essentially throwing the stick at the cymbal. These are pretty light and thin so they wobble pretty easily and are also quite washy.

*UPDATE* I made a community post but just in case it doesn't reach people I figured I would put it here as well. Thank you so much everybody. Goal achieved for both views and likes! A 1 hour version of this will happen. I can't do it right away due to schedule conflicts but I plan on being able to do it on July 10th. I'm thinking about doing a 1 hour live stream as a true endurance test. A few of the comments below have said this needs a 1 hour version. I will do a 1 hour version if this video gets 3000 views and 200 likes before the anime comes out.

It for sure does have a lot of ghost notes. To be honest, I didn't even really attempt to learn them. I just used them to fill in space where I felt it naturally grooved. I used to worry about playing things note for note like the song but stopped caring because it completely ruined the fun of doing covers for me. Now I try to be as accurate as I can while still giving my own style some room to come through. Thanks so much for watching. I appreciate the kind words!

I really like the sound of the drums, you can really hear the pulsation. The tuning of the drums is just amazing, the toms are really deep and the snare fits the music really well. The bass on the bass drum is very audible. The cymbals sound really nice and clear. And the new drum mix template makes the whole cover a perfect experience. Can you tell me what kind of equipment you use ?

Drums: Drum Shells - Mapex Armory Exotic Snare Drum - Pearl Sensitone Aluminum Cymbals: Hats - Meinl Dark Hats Splash - Wuhan Koi Left Crash - Meinl Traditional Ride - Meinl Vintage Pure Ride Right Crash - Wuhan Koi Cowbell - Can't remember the exact model but it's one of the Meinl ones China - Zildjian A China High Sticks: Vic Firth SD2 Drum Heads: Everything is Remo Drum Mics: Kick in - Shure PG52 Kick Out - Mackie EM-91C Snare Top - Shure SM57 Snare Bottom - Blue Ember Rack Tom - Shure PG56 Floor Tom 1 - Shure PG56 Floor Tom 2 - Shure PG52 Overheads - Shure PG81 Mono Room Mic - Audio Technica AT2035 Steve Albini Style Floor Mics - Behringer C-2 All of that is then recorded into Pro Tools where I do all my mixing.
