Mills has been touring with his childhood friend, Robert McDuffie, who is a violinist. They are partnering with local symphonies for a show which features Mill's "Concerto for for Violin, Rock Band and String Orchestra". I saw it about a month ago. They brought in their own band and conductor but the symphony orchestra was our local group. I think Mills must have written in for his friend McDuffie. They were standing out in front of others and McDuffie was having the time of his life, playing and dancing around the stage. His joy was palpable. I believe it is in the second year of touring so don't know if they did Winston Salem on the way home to Georgia and Florida or how much longer it will be on the road.

Peter Buck didnt mind it,but the rest of the band just wasnt keen. If you look at mills on this he just doent feel it. Its like hes embarrassed by it. Only REM can sing it and it has to have kate in it. Looking at live clips from out of time days sounded great.
