since RHS is rational, and LHS has a square root of x term, I just bruteforced every perfect square unit I got to 25, which is our answer

I ended up taking a much more complicated approach with this. I started off by squaring both sides, resulting in X+2(sqrtX*sqrt(X-9))+X-9=81, added 9 to both sides and simplified to get 2X+2(sqrt(X^2-9X))=90 Divided both sides by 2 to get X+sqrt(X^2-9X)=45. Then subtracted X from both sides to get sqrt(X^2-9X)=-X+45 Then I squared both sides again to get X^2-9X=X^2-90X+2025. Subtracted X^2 and added90X to both sides to get 81X-2025. Divided both sides by 81 to get X=25

@@mathhatersacademy Oddly enough, as I was working on the problem, I accidentally used the answer to test a theory I had that I hadn't properly learned yet. I was trying to figure out if sqrtX*sqrt(X-9)=sqrt(X^2-9X), so I tried to find a number to substitute for X that would give me numbers I could easily find the square root of and get a whole number, starting from 2, then 3, then 4, and finally 5. Trying 4-9=-5, 9-9=0, 16-9=7, and finally ending up on 25-9=16, which I could then get the square root of 16, being 4. So I was able to prove it with sqrt25*sqrt(25-9)=sqrt(25^2-9*25) and ultimately ended up with 20=20. Then when I realized the answer was X=25, I found it funny that my substitution number to test this theory, also ended up being the answer.

This question is stupid. Kilo is not used for units, but weight. Imagine telling someone to go to the equipment shop to buy a kilo dumbbell, and they get you 1000 dumbbells.
