I wonder if Blackmagic, given their CURRENT manufacturing capability and/or patent barriers, simply cannot make L-mount cameras with internal NDs. They said they want the new 12k FF to be their "dream camera," so it has to have internal NDs, right? and due to its price bracket and size, I think that camera is definitely NOT designed for one-man bands like the case of the pockets and probably the pyxis. And on those bigger productions, people are likely using heavier cinema lenses (PL/LPL) anyway. Even though the SONY Venice 2 technically has a E-mount, how many people actually would use E-mount lenses on them? I guess they just slam whatever mount they think fits the camera the best, since they don't need to care about autofocus performance...But I do agree that sacrificing internal NDs for the L-mount is a pretty stupid compromise to make. And I would love to see a pyxis/6kFF pro with internal NDs that has an EF mount! That sounds fun!

@@CINENIMUS different use cases. The side screen could be a super cool operating interface, and obviously it’s not primarily for monitoring your image.😂 in my mind, it’s simple--they had the choice between adding more buttons vs adding a 4inch monitor to help interact with the camera, and they chose the later. Makes sense to me.

I'm a fan of what Blackmagic does as a company, and I love my Blackmagic cameras, recognizing both their strengths and weaknesses (p.s. that's why I have my Sony to pair with them!). I too just can't stand some of the fanboys out there haha🙄

@@CINENIMUS Okay, as I think about it more, I think I'm specifically a fan of the 6k pro body. I enjoy the large screen and the tiltable EVF for composition and framing my shots, the internal NDs, and the ease of mind when it comes to precise ISO and WB settings. If sony or other companies offer those features in a small body, I would happily switch brands. Does that make me a fanboy?🤔
@zechenwei1139Күн бұрын
My theory is that the sensor in the 6K FF is MUCH OLDER-maybe from an entirely different generation-than those in the 6K Pro or G2. It’s well known that the 6K FF uses a variant of the IMX410 sensor, first introduced in 2018. While many assume that Sony also manufactures the sensors for the 6K Pro and G2, it’s worth noting that Sony's first APS-C camera capable of recording 6K (downsampled to 4K) at 60 fps is the a6700, a 2023 release. I say this because I own both the 6K Pro and a6700, and in my experience, they are surprisingly comparable and easy to match, sharing a similar latitude in the shadow area-at least when using Resolve Color Management.

About 2 yrs ago I made a loop clip to be played in some cheap smart tv's in a store (don't want to mention brands) , they seem to play mp4 files pretty well, we tested a few times, all looked great, until I uploaded my files and they would not play at all, just regular mp4 files rendered in 24fps or 30fps, after a couple hours trying different settings I've noticed that the old files we used for testing were encoded in 29.98fps so I tried and Boom! they worked. So my conclusion, 23.976, 29.97, and 59.94 as obsolete as they are, you will still need them in some cases where your client uses cheap tv's as displays. I hope this save somebody some time and frustration!

@@CINENIMUS is there still this weird banding issues ? At what iso was it happening ? What would you consider as extreme lowlight? On my 6k pro I am usually at 1250 for low light and 3200 is probably the max I have used but always try to stay below it. I think once I used 4000 on a holiday video when it was pitch black in a car for one shot but apart that never had to honestly.
@CINENIMUS10 күн бұрын
@@thomascaminada7808 honestly if you looking at Blackmagic cameras or anything cinema related 1250 iso is already way more than you need / or should be shooting at. Yes 100%, sadly BM and most video cameras dont allow very long shutter speeds no idea why so I shot this at slowest possible OS speed which is 5fps to 24fps at 360 degree shutter. I would really like it to be a lot slower so it was possible to shoot beyond f1.4 and also in general to get more light

@@CINENIMUS This is really beautiful, great job! I've shot at 1fps on 24fps project frame rate with 360 degree shutter at 10000-20000 iso during dark starry nights on other cameras, and while the exposure's ok, regardless of which camera I use, I always seem to end up with red hot pixels if I do it for any length of time. @@CINENIMUS But that is the market's problem. Most people buy cameras in the middle price level, around 2500 euro/dollar, and these people are not filmmakers, but ordinary people, who want to make videos on youtube. They need autofocus.
