Stick twirling is a curious business. I'll grab a stick and start twirling and suddenly it's like I've been doing it my whole life. At last! I can twirl like a pro! The next time I pick up that stick, my hands can't make sense of it at all. It's like I've never twirled anything in my life and never will. Maybe my fingers just don't have good short term memory. Good tutorial.

Great ..now I can be just like Sweet drummer Mick tucker ..from the 70$

In your dreams maybe. ;-) He was good at the first technique and a very good and vastly underrated drummer to boot.

Nice to see the 'pencil twirl' method too. Very nicely done!

I think being able to grab sticks out of thin air matters because you MIGHT be able to grab them. Guys who aren't good at that (same ones who rarely lose one: Danny Seraphine) and didn't assume that would happen (no spare stick holder) look lost til they get help. I prefer handling everything myself. The master of this: Kenny Aronoff. If Peter Erskine were dead, Kenny would make him roll in his grave like a chicken on a spit. Kenny was in Danny Collins in Pacino's "live band." I always notice the drummer, if he's actually playing...and i noticed it wasn't just an actor, badly faking it. But a GOOD player. Sure enough, lol. Notable fake: Sal Mineo as Gene Krupa. He missed one serious fill we caught. Ooo, Pro Mark :) I have these in hickory 5B. LA specials. Not my all-time favorites, but I like them. Sorta like vanilla creams, when raspberry is my favorite. Lil variety :) Hickory DOES send more vibes up my arm than I'm used to with maple pipe band sticks (huge, largest functional sticks I've ever seen* VERY light, tho). *I always thought the gargantian sticks in Up in Smoke were great. Never seen that size and they are unplayable, anyway.
