Every time Mario hits the switch, right before Bowser falls: “WHY DID I HAVE THAT INSTAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLED?”

Late comment, but this would have made a lot more sense if they had chosen to port 3D world first. Promoting 3D world on the Switch wouldn't really work since, at the time, 3D world was strictly a Wii U game. However, if the two games had been ported at the same time, Nintendo would not have had to mess with the timeline.

For me (on Switch) it should've been like Wii U (but with skippable cutscene) and then putting a cutscene explaining how he went to Odyssey only AFTER they said "The adventure continued in Super Mario 3D World for Wii U", in past, to imply it was a past adventure. Then say after the new cutscene: "The adventure now countinues in Super Mario Odyssey for Nintendo Switch". After they released 3D World on Switch, they should've updated the messages to be: "The adventure continues in Super Mario 3D World +Bowser's Fury" and delete the "For Nintendo Switch" in the second message So basically Wii U ending and a cutscene explaining

I like how by putting Odyssey levels on both 3DS and Switch and removing the 3D World ones from those ports made the Wii U version a special edition. Basically the opposite of whar they wanted 😂😂

They had to do that to the switch version because at the time, the switch didn't have 3d world on it. They cant really tell you to play a game that is on a different console, which is why they changed it to odyssey, a game that is possible for you to play because you obviously have a switch if you are playing captain toad.
