While I don't doubt that there is strict control of N Korea's citizens. I can't help but wonder about your narrative on what else is going on there. Here in the US we are fed propaganda all the time. This is to control one's thoughts regarding certain issues. No government can be completely transparent for national security reasons. Considering a large portion of N Koreans are in the military. One would think they have the upper hand especially if they are forced to participate. So what does that tell you? Yes, some people will report any act of treason, for personal gain but over the years this hasn't seemed to be a situation their government has to worry about. As for the caste system, we have that here but it's done in such a way that people don't seem to realize it. This is more evident in our judicial system. And how middle-class citizens are forced to carry the weight of reckless government spending. What does it tell you when we have what we call poor, middle-class, and rich people. The poor create hundreds of thousands of jobs for working people. In turn, the money they make eventually goes to the rich who provide jobs for the rest of the working people, whose money goes to the government and to quote, un-quote, and help the poor. And provide for services such as DOC DOT and other public service endeavors. Necessary essentials are a premium considering their costs. Look at the value of a dollar. COL to the point of comfort is unattainable for most who try to buy into what is called the American dream. The bottom line is we're hardly any different other than being able to voice our opinion against the government. Which only serves to let them know where they need to tighten up their control by acting like they hear us. And then making changes at our expense to quiet us. I could go on and on. There is no place I'd rather be. I have several immediate family members who are or have been military. We know the score. America is far from perfect. We're willing to fight to keep from feeling like and being treated like peasants. And we're better at lying and hiding what is being done to the people. Being raised poor I feel fortunate because it taught me the difference between what I need and what I want. Luckily other than medical, my needs are few as an elderly person.
