This is very similar to the Baptism of Jesus. When he raised from the Water. It opened up Jesus Powers. He could see the Golden Path that he had to submit himself to Death

The dialogue of Gaff is also in reference to the not-so-popular-but-in-my-opinion-best theory that Deckard was a replicant of Gaff. As Gaff's talking about Deckard, he might as well be talking about himself. "He liked to work alone ... he's retired ... got what he wanted ... something in his eyes (while looking up)". Gaff is telling K that there's no way to contact Deckard by "telling" K that there's no way to "contact" Gaff at this very moment. Gaff sees right through K and is not telling him the truth i.e. is withholding information from K. The conversation these two are having might as well not exist, because K doesn't gain anything from it. As most of y'all should know, a "contact" can be defined as someone who provides you with something - be that physical, information-based or emotional. K's use of the word "contact" in this scene goes beyond the social aspect of contacting someone. The sheep origami could be in reference to Isaiah 40:11: "He (i.e. not Jesus, but Gaff) tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs (i.e. Deckard) in his arms and carries them close to his heart." I'm not a Christian, but it makes sense. Gaff is not ratting on Deckard, as he is his nurturer. He cares for his "precious lamb" - a being made in his image. Finally, you could interpolate Gaff saying that "they worked together to keep working alone" as a hint towards the danger of getting to close to your own replicant, and the replicant being able to notice what he is through his "original copy". "You've done """"a man's job"""" (i.e. my job since I'm physically impaired), sir."

If I recall correctly, Gurney has a beautiful singing voice in the books, so this probably isn’t quite what Frank Herbert had in mind. However, something about Josh Brolin as Gurney makes the whole spoken-word, Devil Went Down To Georgia-ish style seem so perfectly fitting.

The entire Giedi Prime sequence is unforgettable. What a masterclass of worldbuilding, and all of it shown over being told, at that.

It feels so organic because designers have openly hybridised real earth cultures, I haven't read the books but I imagine this is totally on parr with the writing. The chanting here is a great example - cross between Mauri and Icelandic chanting. It's humans, but in thousands of years' time.

I wasn’t too interested in dune untill everyone on TikTok said it was one of the best movies ever. I’m at the theater after watching part 1 and I’m siting watching part 2 and I’m like ok so far it’s alright but then this scene came up and I was like holy shit, I sat up in my chair focused on every frame. This is one of the most iconic scenes eve r

Dune is my absolute favorite book of all time, moreso than the hundreds of other books I have read by a huge margin. These films are collectively my favorite book-to-screen adaptation of all time. Yes there are some things cut out - entirely forgivable given the first book is longer even than Fellowship of the Ring. Yes there are a few changes made. But ultimately it is still refreshingly accurate, capturing the complex themes and grand scale of the universe of Dune. Just this one scene captures so much, from the intense blue of the Fremen eyes to their troop marching across the desert to the sound of epic music. Gah! I just love it so much!!!
