There's a followup clip of this where it shoes they're on deck 1 (cabins starting with 1). Take a look at the deck plans and you'll see there's many single stairways around the ship. Find one near a WC area (the sign) with a seating area/open space nearby (the sofas with the duck graffiti). If you find the spot tell me about it, please

I have difficulties to locate a deck plan with high enough resolution so I could be certain, but I believe it's the cafe in the aft, on deck 5. As the ones I found are in such low resolution, I can't see if the children's playroom is located by the cafe or not.

Same here. On Corsica Ferries they finally get the respect they deserve.
@joonasvahamaki52103 жыл бұрын
@Finn Rudebeck if you look at the many videos from Corsica Ferries, they are very well maintained. In good paint and also the interiors have been refurbished with a lot of money. Silja Line and later Tallink didn't do much about that in the late 90's. I also believe they are their flagship ships as they appear in so many videos. Who would give that status to a 35 years old ship normally?
@joonasvahamaki52103 жыл бұрын
@Finn Rudebeck I am not claiming that they don't take care of their ships now, but the whole company management was in bad hands in the 90's, a lot of changes in the ownership etc. Also when Tallink bought them, they didn't put too much effort on these older ships either. They have since then, and it seems there is also a change of plans because Silja Symphony and Serenade are probably gonna sail 'til the end of their career in here rather than being sold.
@Buppasiri1 Жыл бұрын
@@joonasvahamaki5210 I'm not sure about Serenade and Symphony and the end of career. Emission standards can end their duty earlier than thought... Anyway, good video's Joonas. Ive watched the old Viking Sally clips as well. Great even if kind of spooky when you know her faith.. 👍

The rounded wall to the right seen at 0:17, is that the staircase to deck 0 (pool/sauna)?
@iamteone72185 жыл бұрын
I believe it is as it matches the blueprints. I cannot imagine the horror felt by the passengers awakaned by the violent list at deck 1. Many became paralyzed with fear, elderly people couldn't cope with the increasing list and were unable to climb out of their cabins and could not navigate the steep and narrow stairs leading upwards in the ship. It must have been sher terror to be in this maze-esque environment, being in the bottom of this giant metal tomb, roof and floors eventually becomes walls which in turn becomes very claustrophobic combined with the rising water entering the ship, the dissorientation, the uncertanty, the feeling of being in a giant descending elevator, the lights go out and only screams can be heard. RIP
