I actually remember these promos from my days as a DJ. That was late 1985. There was one with the dude trimming hedges ad runs into the neighbors german shepard, and another about the banana exterminator showing up. I thought they were hilarious. This is the first time Ive found them again. Thank you

All a big put-on in the days when they were fellow liberals. Imus wound up, sadly, a big supporter of DJT and a sick, embittered man. In his best years the very edgy ensemble satire on Imus jn the Morning was very high quality stuff and the quality of the guests and the amount if sheer news information unrivaled.

I am a Tigers fan. Grew up listening to the greats, Ernie Harwell and George Kell. At night I listen to radio broadcasts of games from a long time ago. I have heard all the broadcasters from the past from every team, and the one that has become my favorite is Bob Murphy.

Isn't sad the owners no longer care about their own stations. Betray the advertisers into thinking people are listening to their junk.

As far as I know... the ad agency who were producing the spots was let go - reason unknown. But the voice guys, I think one was called Clem, the techs and jingle singers decided to give 7-11 a sendoff they could remember. I happened to grab them all when I worked at the RKO Radio station in Miami-Fort Lauderdale. I just rediscovered them on cassette. The copy I got I was lucky that Production One had some processing equipment to clean up the audio as best as possible from a copy of a copy of a copy... I'm not sure what to do with them now that I have them saved as WAV files. One would be very offensive in today's standards, sort of like comparing to Blazing Saddles if you catch my drift...

Interesting thing about Bill Wendell. Producer Robert Morton said that Bill was fired from the cbs late show for stealing bottled water. He was unhappy with cbs and extremely petty. No surprise he would have a problem with Howard but then on tv would hug like they’re friends.
