Hi Mark, I have a few questions, I don't know much about solar yet I am just starting to look into it for my new Triton. How would that panel hold up in stormy weather such as torrential rain? Would you need to wipe it dry to draw power again? Would you need to cover to protect from hail? How long did the postage take from Vic Offroad to you in Queensland? I've had a look around their website. I am in Sydney so I guess it would be around the same time frame.
@10mmsocketAdventures11 ай бұрын
About 3 to 5 days delivery, should handle 5mm hail and don't worry about the rain. Good luck with your build. 💪 Also, there's great info on vicoffroad website.

Hey mate can I ask why you opted for an exposed upright fridge in a tub canopy setup over a pop top and fridge slide??

Great question, there is a few reasons, weight & space saving and also the convenience of upright fridge. I would never go back to a chest style fridge at this point in time.

Have you installed the J-Braces in order to prevent the loadbin from cracking when having over 45kg on it? My 2019 XLT 10speed loadbin cracked on both sides on the front while only driving tar and light gravel and then destroyed itself on our trip through Botswana. Only had a Bushtech Alluminium Canopy, Alu Cab RTT and 270 awning. All fitted by reputable installers. Luckily, my insurance covered the damages as Ford voided the warranty, saying it was due to using non Ford Approved brackets 😂. Then, with the new Gen, they sell the J braces separately in order for the loadbin not to crack. Clearly, a Ford problem and running away from their responsibilities to the consumers. So after fixing the loadbin, I traded it in on a Toyota Hilux Legend. Safe travels and watch that loadbin 🍻.
@pac-man_2.088 Жыл бұрын
Here in South Africa it's also recommended to bolt down the front canopy brackets to the front panel of the loadbin. Due to the crime rate in SA we also prefer the solid side doors instead of the glass due to prying eyes looking at what they can smash and grab. Keep the update videos coming and safe travels.
@10mmsocketAdventures Жыл бұрын
Yes, the J-bracing is a worry, but it was fitted by a Ford dealer, so far so good. 👍🏻

Really beautiful country. Your ranger looks impressive as it drives through the dirt tracks. Did I see a few pin stripes on the side of the ranger or was that some dirt? Do you have a strategy to deal with possible pin stripes? That is one thing I am concerned about with my ranger and I am not sure what is the best way deal with it is. I hope you go to many more places like this ones. Nothing better to do that with friends and family. All the best and happy traveling.

Giddy mate. If your Ranger goes into ford or another service peo0le they all seem to refresh your computer weather it needs it or not. The car has to relearn the 2ay you drive to get good economy again. I don't know what to expect from the V6 motor.

The canopy matches the Ranger styling, and you were right to go with the glass. The drawn-out mess with that camera guarantees I will not use ARB to upgrade my Ranger.

Horrible the gap from the vehicle back window to the canopy is poor , black is the worst colour for a canopy given the interior temp is approx 10d hotter than colour You would be the only next gen with that style on , that should tell you something
@10mmsocketAdventures Жыл бұрын
What if the Ranger was black?😒
@ianmason8774 Жыл бұрын
I like what you have done with the build. It seems to me, unless front camera problems are happening without the bull-bar fitted, it is an ARB problem. If it only happens when the bull-bar is fitted it because of the way ARB has done it. The fact that ARB has designed a new bracket suggests the original bracket was not a good design for the job. I am just wondering what sort of fuel economy you are getting since you have done the mods? Again best of luck on your build.
@10mmsocketAdventures Жыл бұрын
11.9 to 12.1 per hundred. Yes, I was thinking the same thing (ARB).

I'm getting 10.2L/100 on 33s with the PX3 ranger 3.2L. Mine was recalibrated for the larger diameter tires. You will find that if you havnt had your vehicle recalibrated for the larger tires it will throw off your speedo, odometer, distance to empty and fuel consumption will read higher. Look into custom car coding to have them reset for the larger tire diameter.

looks great, enjoying your Vids. I am due to order a new Ranger soon, looking at your Rego Plates, from the same Dealer. Tossing up on the Choice of Canopy, Ute Master or the one that you have. How watertight is it? Is there a lot of extra wind noise? thanks
@10mmsocketAdventures Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. It's pretty water tight, with a slight leak through the front sliding window, I don't think there's a canopy that doesn't leak. I'm very happy with canopy set-up and no wind noise. There will be an in-depth video on the canopy very soon.
