This is so good. Today I threw everything out!!!!Remaining alcohol from yet another binge last night. Also threw out some cannabis gummy’s and nicotine vape. All gone. I have been a Christian for many years and had a very dramatic conversion but I reopened the door to alcohol years ago and it’s just been getting worse. I haven’t lost job, home, and all that “stuff” but I lost myself and the depression that follows every relapse was getting more and more debilitating Please pray 🙏 for me. My name is Jodi (female). I’m running to Jesus.

This is how to perform race scamming and tying it to religion. Her explanation of history has nothing to do with what actually happened but to race scam. There is absolutely zero to do with truth.

Not a good metaphor for me. Jesus is the lion - C.S. Lewis...plus the Bible. A lot of re-used pop psychology here, in my opinion.

Struggling to overcome addiction and SSA for years. reached out to many Christians but no one was willing to help. Even been told that they (Christians) don't know how to deal with it. Maybe I should be able to overcoem with me and Jesus alone but no success yet. Matter of fact, over past few years certain aspects have worsened. Don't give up but tired of handling alone.

I try very hard to listen and understand and see wrong ways of thinking I may have. I love Jesus and if I am missing something, I want to know it. I want to approach this issue with compassion. With that being said, I am having a hard time understanding some of this way of "being a bridge" by focusing and resting in the past as if we have somehow whitewashed it or ignored it. Maybe that's a southern thing? We learned about the evil and atrocity of slavery, Jim Crow, and how black people were treated in this country. I think every young person learns of our nation's shameful history. It seems like we're spending forever sitting in the past and letting that define us, rather than learning about it, learning from it, and moving forward in love and unity. This seems more divisive than healing and unifying. I don't believe we need to repent of other people's sins and that is not Biblical for New Covenant believers in Jesus. Ezra and Nehemiah are bad examples as they are not New Covenant believers in Jesus. She says "you will know the truth and the truth will set us free." Okay. We acknowledge the truth. Slavery was a horrible sin both by white slaveholders, those who turned a blind eye to it, including Christians, and the Africans who kidnapped and enslaved their own people to sell them to Europeans. I fear that acknowleding the truth will NEVER set us free, and that this is not your goal, Latasha. Let me be clear about what I am writing. Latasha says "Jesus makes beauty from the ashes, but first we must recognize and acknowledge the ashes." For how long? How have we not done that? My concern is we have done this! When do we move forward? What "recognition" are we missing?

Maybe you do not understand the horrible conditions of the black in the south.

@@helenjohnsrude1044 What do you mean? All black people in the south are living in horrible conditions? I see many starting businesses and doing well. I can see the education system failing them, which is why school vouchers and more opportunities on that end would be helpful. I stand by my original comment and don't think it's helpful to define ourselves by the past and pretend that has to hold us back today. We can't move forward looking backward. We will inevitably trip and fall.

@ThePeakProducer 2 ай бұрын
@biblicalworldview1 I agree with what you've said 100 percent. Latasha's message is not based on godly wisdom. It's a fallen-world solution to a fallen-world problem, and it will not work. Godly wisdom always puts the onus of reconciliation on the one who was wronged, aka "the victim." That's because, in Christ, we are no longer victims. We have died to all of that and are alive in Him. Through Christ, we can now "love our enemies," "pray for those who persecute us," "repay evil with good," "turn the other cheek," "voluntarily go an extra mile when forced to go one mile," etc. All of this points people back to Jesus, which is the ultimate goal. God's kind of love doesn't keep a record of sins, condemning generation after generation; it covers them. Let's pray that Latasha will receive healing for the hurts of the past. Jesus loves her and wants her to be free from this. See you in Heaven, my friend! Blessings!
