Cliquei por acaso(que dizer, andava a procura de qualquer coisa sobre o centenário do nascimento de Maria Callas) e fui dar com um artigo de uma rádio espanhola que, entre outras coisas dizia que Maria com apenas 12 anos cantou para uma rádio de NY a ária da ópera Madame Buterflay! É delicioso e com essa idade já se adivinhava uma grande cantora de ópera!Fiquei fascinada!

By the arias she recorded in 1954, we can well say that her Turandot from those early years must have been tremendous! What a shame that no recording from these performances has come up until today... We keep hoping...

Her complete recording of Turandot lacks only true stereo sound and a credible Calaf.There was Corelli, del Monaco, Tucker, and Bjorling...Walter Legge perversely chose Eugenio Fernandi, just as he was to choose an aging Tagliavini instead of Franco Corelli who would have been the ideal tenor for Callas' second Lucia recording.
