So disturb the wildlife in the country park , where falcons and owls live. , the noise and disturbance over the last few years has destroyed the park , the same+event could be held in the town centre Howard park. Or down the road in the Kay Park. , the+guests are+ff course paying 80 odd for a family , the poor can’t take part in this .

We’ll admit it, most of us are too young to have experienced it first hand but there’s clearly a lot of love for the metro in Ayrshire 🎧

Used to go every Saturday 91-94. A certain Scottish producer, "S.B.", in my eyes ruined the scene putting out tons of samey tunes, same formula under his own name & ton of aliases. Metro 91-93 was magical, mix of piano & rave tracks. 94 onwards that shitty 155bpm ravecore shite. Stopped going to Metro mid 94.
@TVAyrshire18 күн бұрын
Very interesting, we never dived too deep into it but think a documentary purely focusing on the 90s scene at the Metro/around Ayrshire would be interesting!
@baggedr32mk518 күн бұрын
A bit harsh regarding Scott brown,if it wasn’t for him a lot of the other Scottish PA’s wouldn’t have had the success they did from having him write their tunes as he was behind a lot of them as he wrote so much music around that time he had to give them to other acts to perform.

Started going there in 1990, when it closed in the early hours we would go back to Glasgow because the clubs were open late, Glasgow was the European city or culture 1990, what a time to be alive 👍💥🍻💯

the clubs in Glasgow were open till 6am that year (if my memory is correct?) i went to Warehouse, Dunlop street (behind St Enoch Centre). was a very young Marc Smith there before he did Hacienda. lots of Acid. wild.

Nothing will beat the days from late 91 to 94. I worked with The Rhythmic State during 93/96 & we played the Metro more times than I can remember. It was one of our favourite gigs whenever we were playing there. Magical hedonistic times. 🕊️👈🤯

Nice to see many here have happy memories from years ago, I do too. The Flying Tigers, Cargolux, Orient Express, Heavylift, USAF C-141s were all daily visitors back then. I left the area 30 years ago, but recently moved back, and am happy to report we've got regular movements of C-17s (many air forces), A400, Air France cargo, & Cargolux still operating. It seems to be doing just fine here. Well done Scottish government for having the foresight to keep the site going.

Interesting video but a bit better research was needed. Ayr and Kilmarnock Burgh forces did amalgamated into Ayrshire Constabulary in 1968 but Ayr operations were moved to the County Constabulary building in Charlotte St until the new station was opened at King Street.

Very nice video and great to hear how the community are working hard to ensure there are continuous improvements for the locals. You could also have named checked Darvel Football Club who are the current holders of both the Scottish Junior Cup and West of Scotland Cup who have a loyal local fan base. Plus they have proudly developed international players in the past.

Not anymore it’s not! This has been a good discussion point but effectively they’ve closed half the runway now it’s no longer a military airport, meaning Prestwick is still the official (commercial) title holder

It was when it was military, now it’s a civilian airport they’ve shut half the runway so Prestwick still is longest (commercial)
