Great video - as always... Thank you for all that you do. QUESTION: How can I let LUMIX know that removing the "Multiple Exposure" feature from the S5 series and the New Micro 4/3 bodies, was a very bad idea. Where is the best place to submit feedback directly to LUMIX?

I can live without the flip up screen and since I shoot mostly 4k 24p the G9II has about everything I need. I got the bonus $500 trade in when I got the G9II so it was a very good deal. If they have a sale or the bonus again I might think about the GH7. The G9II is a very good camera.

I have an A6700 and a S9. Like them both, but for video, the S9 IBIS is much better than the A6700 IBIS. LUMIX Lab is stellar compared to Sony’s Creators App. A6700 photos are sharper and it has excellent low light capability with the 15mm F1.8. The 20-70G F4 Lens is very nice, but so is the var aperture 20-60 LUMIX S lens. Very similar in image quality, but I prefer the LUMIX out of camera colors. I really like the LUMIX S 35mm F1.8. Record limits are a non-issue for me.

I bought a G9II and not thinking to replace it with the GH7. I like the body style better in the G9II... Flatter top design is nicer in G9II, the rear dial sticking out backwards in the GH7 which is awkward, the front dial design is much better in the G9 IMO, and better the position of the top record button in the G9II... what is better in the GH7 though: the locking capability of the mode dial, and the fans + the tilt screen... but hey, fan means more weight so I can live without it

I am thinking about these cameras. The lack of a CF Express slot, no shutter angle, no recording frame on the monitor all are drawbacks of the G9 II. Here in Canada the GH7 is not currently available. When it becomes available perhaps the price of the G9 II will drop even further.

Tbh I’ve not watched the video yet (I will) but I just want to say early on…. The sole reason I will buy the GH7 is that it has a tilt screen. I am once again hoping that one day Lumix will make an APS-C L-mount camera in a box-style body. Effectively a direct answer to the FX30. By not going full frame, that would give them a lot more wiggle room to nail the engineering of the other parts of a cinema camera (that 'organic' sensor feeling, fast sensor readout, low HDMI lag, internal ND etc).
@raksh9
@raksh9 19 сағат бұрын
But do they really need to answer the FX30? Panasonic has never had an aps-c camera, nor do they make aps-c lenses, so they would be committing a lot of R&D to building from scratch.
@leenhouse217
@leenhouse217 6 сағат бұрын
@@raksh9 fair comment, but I believe that there is a gap for an entry-level APS-C cinema camera. The crucial part would be that it would be L-mount. Sigma already have some L-mount APS-C lenses, so there isn't an immediate need for R&D on that front, plus you can use existing FF L-mount lenses. I think that APS-C is a bigger gap for Lumix than you might think. A lot of people genuinely prefer APS-C to FF, especially for cinema work, yet don't want to go as far as MFT. As I argue above, a smaller sensor would give Lumix the opportunity to address a lot of QoL features for the cinema user without it being an expensive or complex dev cycle. The FX30 is competitive in the entry-level cinema space, and is a strong on-ramp into the E mount ecosystem. That's what I believe Lumix need an answer to, and would currently be well-placed to deliver.

Yeah for me personally, Sony specs and all is great but it just does have that special sauce in terms of color. It takes more work to get a pleasing image out of it. Canon is little to punchy and crunchy for my taste. Now I have always loved Blackmagic image a lot and menu settings. But the form factor of most of the bodies, and autofocus are doo doo. (That and i don’t edit mainly in Davinci so FCP kinda struggles). Nikon lol once a 🥔 always a 🥔 Lumix is the perfect middle ground of all the amazing specs similar (not quite yet) of Sony (plus some also internal pro res raw, open gate, like cmon) but then still that amazing color science like Blackmagic. It really is just this magical camera that could have been so popular if they figured out PDAF sooner
