HDD good for storage if it isn't under heavy R&W. SSD good for performance like OS. BTW SSD SLC is best for R&W use but limited in capacity.

Hi, can you tell me how digital twin is useful in load forecasting?
@OnLogic
@OnLogic 19 күн бұрын
Thank you for the question. Yes, digital twins could be leveraged in load forecasting applications. By creating a virtual replica of the power network, they can simulate different scenarios, analyze data, and predict future load demand based on historical data. The models would, of course, need to be constantly updated to keep pace with changes to the network or user behavior.

It is mentioned 16 Giga transfers per second per lane. Transfers means, is it in bits? (I mean 16 Giga bits?)
@OnLogic
@OnLogic Ай бұрын
Thanks for the question. Gigatransfers per second and Gigabits per second are not the same. The difference has to do with data encoding and how bandwidth is specified versus the real-world amount of data being sent and received. There's a more detailed explanation and a helpful chart for reference here - docs.baslerweb.com/knowledge/transfer-speeds-explained-gigatransfers-per-second-gts. Hope that helps.

It doesn't matter I made a big mistake on getting traditional HDD's Even though I think they are much durable... but the gaming industry is getting to SSD's requirements such as star wars outlaws, NBA 2k 25... and ya know what... I think it's better to have Hard drives than SSD's.... but who knows how far technology expands... one day there will be a time where SSD's will become second rate. (once we reach lightspeed rates with 32k res with 200fps

I'm new to all this, so I apologize in advance. I am looking to storing (copies) my photos in a secondary backup, which would either be an ssd or hdd but I don't know which to go with. I have a phone, but I don't trust Google photos or their cloud. I want a long-term one. Every month or depending on how much pictures I take, I will put them in one of those 2 options. I want something that I can easily recover data from in case it gets damaged or accessing it after a couple of decades ( I don't know if that's possible) A few questions if you don't mind. I'm hearing a sdd is more durable, reliable and overall better. Why is it that a hdd would be the better option for the long term when it comes to photos? Are these secured? If one steals it, can they access my data? The photos that I will put into them, how does the date, time, and location get affected? For example, let's say I took a photo on 08/02/2024 at 8am and put it into both of them, and a year later, I want to put it in a different phone or let's say a computer, will the date, and time change? How long does a hdd last, and can I keep it forever until I run out of storage, or should I upgrade, and how often? How fast is a hdd compared to a sdd? Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the questions. There are a lot of factors that will impact your particular experience with a hard drive, and SSD technology is constantly evolving, but here are some broad responses to your questions. Many photographers and other professionals who store a large quantity of image files prefer HDDs for long-term storage because of cost, durability, and data recovery ease. HDDs can often provide higher capacity at a lower cost per gigabyte (though the gap is closing). While HDDs are more susceptible to physical damage, they can reliably retain data for a long time when properly stored, whereas unpowered SSDs can suffer from data loss. Similarly, data recovery can be a more simple and effective process for HDDs (though this isn't always the case). In terms of security, neither SSDs nor HDDs inherently provide stronger security. If your drive is stolen, the data on it can be accessed. To protect your data, you should encrypt your drives using encryption software. The date, time, and location data (metadata) embedded in your photos will be preserved when you copy them to an SSD or HDD. This information is part of the photo file itself and will remain unchanged. HDDs can last for many years, often a decade or more, with proper care. However, technology advances, and you might consider upgrading for performance or capacity reasons. The frequency of upgrades depends on your needs. If you're simply archiving photos, you might not need to upgrade very often. SSDs are significantly faster than HDDs for reading and writing data. However, for long-term storage where you're primarily accessing data infrequently, this speed difference is less critical. As I'm sure you can imagine, there are a WIDE array of opinions on this topic, and everyone's experience and needs are different, but we hope this was helpful. Thanks for watching!

Is there a version of this hardware available without the panel? I don't see an equivalent Karbon/Helix series IPC with that connectivity and processor in the current lineup.

Thanks for the question! The Karbon 802 ( www.onlogic.com/store/k802/ ) can be configured with virtually the same connectivity by using its dual-ModBay expansion slots, and features as much (and more, depending on your CPU of choice) processing performance, as the Tacton TC401.

This seems so optimistic for now it is Far from being applicable and a bit over-selling, as for the example of the Jet engine, to do so, you will need to enter every pit and piece of its material and its heat behaviour, which is sometimes not provided in the catalogues or from the manufactural (rubber grade, metal alloys used, all wiring and electronic circuits) usually as operator information provided are the ones in the catalogue and Digital Twin is used to know when or where the issue can happen but not for testing as mentioned, other than that, this is a great piece of material and Effort.
