My back glass has recently developed a fuse issue and the videos I’ve watched say to use fast blow not slow blow. Thought?
@dexterro60105 ай бұрын
Depends on what the game calls for. Check the manual. If you don’t have a manual you can go to the internet pinball database and bring it up (except for Gottlieb games).
@rtbrain5 ай бұрын
@@dexterro6010 thanks for your response! Yes I have the manual as well as the schematics and of course the original sticker under the fuse location. All say: 15,15,15,10 but the volts vary on each of those. So I went to get the 15 amp and first one I put in blew immediately so I guess I need to get a meter and see what the actual voltage is going thru that top fuse that controls the back panel lights. I also have new LED lights coming to replace the old incandescents to reduce the load. Admittedly I’m an EM newbie even though I’ve had this machine for 30 years! I’ve hired a pinball guy locally in the past but he’s done a half-A$$ job and has never fixed the issues. Now I’m educating myself somewhat but it’s trial and error. Mostly error. 🤣🤣🤣🤷🏻♂️

Mine only has the red/white RCA style inputs, one for L and one for R. Could I crimp RCA connectors on to the end of the speaker wire going to the subwoofer? Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide!

Possibly. I’ve never encountered that, but I’m going out on a limb to say one of the magnets may be shorted. Testing with a DMM is probably in order to see what the deal is. I’m pretty sure the magnets themselves are still available for purchase if the existing ones are no good.

According to the Popeye manual the lamp matrix uses J137(p114/142 3-4), but the Power driver board (p135/142 3-25) claims that J137 isnt used? *QUESTION: I bought the same power supply, model # matches, looks exactly the same. At 6:03 of this video on your XP power supply, top left hand corner there is a tab and below it there is a ground symbol, that is the ground, correct? I will be performing this operation on my Data East, Tales From The Crypt. I didn't get a good look at your OLD connector. My Old connector -12v and 12v dead end on that connector BUT my ground and 5v run through it and lead off some where else. Did all your wires on your Robo Cop soundboard dead end or where like mine? It would be a good idea to hook that tab to a ground, right??
@Alpha67Wolf2 жыл бұрын
I used that tab that was marked ground to a ground that was only inches below where I mounted the aux xp power supply. I got my pin back from my local pinball repair man and it was very $$$$ to replace and repair all the things not working on it. The plug-n-play filter thingy that is on the market is always sold out he said and he didn't know about this "hacK". I told him about it and he said that would work. From what I hear that plug-n-play thingy doesn't make the noise go away completely and you will ALWAYS hear that slight humming noise. This process/procedure {not a hack} makes the noise go away COMPLETLY.

I put mine in and still nothing... Pretty frustrated. The new ColorDMD works cuz I can push the buttons on it and change the colors and menu options for the actual DMD, just nothing coming from the machine to it I guess... I didn't do the USB color mod yet, because I wanted to see if it worked first. I don't think you have to put the color download into it for it to just work in mono-color.

Having worked through an EM I got the bug and had been looking for a solid state/DMD with nothing specific in mind (Although I would like an F-14) and the opportunity to get a LAH came up. It was in pretty similar condition as yours. It had a lot of similar issues. The only issue other issue I had was a 7408 chip on the board was alkaline damaged (nothing above or below it so????) and had to be replaced to get the GI relay to work properly. The board was damaged to the point it needed jumpers from the chip. None of which I had done before. I’m in New Zealand so it took a while to get parts (I also love getting parts in the mail) but I have everything all up and running. I really enjoyed this series and even though I finished about a week before finding these, I still learnt a few very useful things. So thanks for taking the time to share your experience.

I found a seller on eBay who I bought this from , he did all the loading of the rom on there . So it was basically pre built or pre installed for me. But here is the thing. I got two EPROMs or two Roms from him. One is your same thing you have which is LAH cpu 1.13 , the other is LAH display 0a.106 , I see where my version of 1.05 is on the board , it’s the same as you showed in your cabinet. But I have no idea where to plug in this display 0a.106 ? Do you have this also and just didn’t show it in the video? I imagine this updates the display as well as the cpu board? Can you please help? Please bud . Hey a short video of you actually pulling your old one out and installing the new version would be great for us noobs. :) 3 minute video please👏🏻 If not just at least respond to my two questions. Thanks a bunch
