I can see a story of a young flapper trying to get with a rich man at a bar in fever and her desire to be with a wealthy man in diamonds are a girl's best friend. Considering the setting of the story, the rich man she got together with for his money most likely lost his money from the stock market crash, which happens in why don't you do right. While she is in this relationship with man who is now in financial ruin, he treated her poorly, and later down the line, she eventually come to realize that she deserves better in you don't own me. When she had enough of the abuse, she eventually ended up murdering her own husband in my discarded men. This was what I put together in this playlist. 😭
