THIS! is what it takes: Preach and Teach Matthew 6:33 ... Start preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom (Greek word Basilia for "The Foundation of Power") ... THEN and Only then, all that you vocalize and desire will come to pass. Wellspring is hungry for Truth and the Gospel of the Kingdom!

I'm sorry, that is not correct. Let me address each of your points: >Baptism is not a requirement of salvation John 3:5 Jesus answered: Amen, amen I say to thee, unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Ghost, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. >A lot of people say when I get baptized that's when I get saved, that's not what the Bible teaches. 1 Peter 3:21: Whereunto baptism being of the like form, now saveth you also: not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the examination of a good conscience towards God by the resurrection of Jesus Christ. >Someone was saved on the cross hanging next to Jesus at Calvary I agree he was eventually saved, but his situation is much different than ours. Assuming he was not saved under the Old Covenant, it is safe to assume he would have been baptized had he had the chance. However, because he couldn't receive the sacrament, he might have been given grace of baptism of desire. "Baptism of desire" is not baptism per se, but imparts the grace of the sacrament. However if that is what has happened, we shouldn't take that as a general rule, it is definitely an exception. To this point, the following verses come to mind: Acts 2:37-39 Now when they had heard these things, they had compunction in their heart, and said to Peter, and to the rest of the apostles: What shall we do, men and brethren? But Peter said to them: Do penance, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of your sins: and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all that are far off, whomsoever the Lord our God shall call. >Baptism is a step of obedience after baptism[sic!] That's not all there is to it. Galatians 3:27: For as many of you as have been baptized in Christ, have put on Christ. Romans 6:4 For we are buried together with him by baptism into death; that as Christ is risen from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we also may walk in newness of life. There is no "obedience" before we put on Christ. To walk in the newness of life requires us to be buried into death first. >If baptism was required [...] you'd say oh I have to earn salvation No, you don't earn anything by being baptized, on the contrary, you receive the free gift of salvation. Your asking to be baptized in no way merits that salvation that is communicated to you in baptism. >The scripture teaches God does the work of salvation regenerating your heart and your mind and giving you this amazing faith Amen. I have more to say on this topic, but it's not relevant because baptism is unrelated. It's not something you do, it's something that's done to you. >Then you go public with what he's been doing privately in you. That's what the Scriptures teach. Please do not add to the word of God! You've also added the words "based on your faith" to the words of Jesus to the thief on the cross, but this is worse because it's definitely wrong: The scripture does not teach that baptism is a performance for the public, that's a particular Protestant tradition that you won't find neither in the Bible nor in early Christian writings as far as I am aware. But you know what you will find there however? Baptismal regeneration.

Consider the Exodus. What did the Israelites do to receive their deliverance from slavery? In obedience to God's instruction, the morning after Passover, they took a long walk to the sea. That was a lot of work, was it not? What would have happened if God had not performed a miracle in making a path through the sea - something they could not do which resulted in their deliverance/"salvation"? They would have been hauled back into slavery. So it is clear that their work, alone, would have been ineffectual in saving them. If God had intended to tell a story about freedom without the necessity of work, he could have had the "death angel" kill ALL the Egyptians easily enough. That would have freed them from slavery without any work on their part. But he didn't - he told them to walk. The same can be said for crossing the sea. When God opened up a path, he told them to walk - which was work. Many believe that the Israelites slavery in Egypt symbolizes slavery to sin for us today. If slavery to Egypt symbolizes slavery to sin, then what might their departure from Egypt symbolize for us today? I suggest that it represents our departure from sin, or repentance. 1 Cor 10 completes the picture with Paul informing us that they were "baptized into Moses" by crossing the sea - thus securing their freedom from slavery to Egypt. This phrase "baptized into Moses" has the same structure as “baptized into Jesus” - a phrase which Paul never explains apart from the analogy with 1 Cor 10, but uses in explanation of other ideas, as in Rom 6:3 and Gal 3:27. So it appears that God has created a story of repentance feeding directly into baptism as being salvific from the power of sin. Observe that both their departure from Egypt and sea crossing required work, yet the work performed by the people was wholly ineffectual without the miracle of God. So in this illustration you can see that they were not "saved by works," just as Eph 2:9 teaches, - yet they had to work to receive the salvation provided by God while God gets 100% of the credit for His work which was decisive in their deliverance. I think we could say they were saved "through works" and not "by works" which follows from the fact that people are saved "through faith" (Eph 2:8) and not "by faith." In short, it is obedience to God, which is faith expressed through the works repentance and baptism, through which we receive God’s miraculous intervention in saving us from the power of sin.

Damn it blows my mind that someone can use God's name to exploit others in order to make a comfortable living. If no money is brought into the church does a pastor still earn a pay check? How do raises work as a pastor and who decides how much a pastor skims off the donates each week? Making a living is one thing but just like the sheep that struggles to donate their wool the voices of God should be struggling as well.

Baptism is symbolic. It's showing what has happened to you. It's not something actually happening to you. Only Jesus saves. Charles the Third will not become King at his coronation. He became King when his mother - Queen Elizabeth the Second - died. You don't become a Christian when you are baptized (or baptised). A coronation for William or George would be nonsense as neither of them are King.
