Where did you get your type rating

I have a quick question. Is it normal when I open Vatsim on my sim for it to keep me from using any button pushes or function of the sim? As soon as I minimize it then every thing works. But I am unable to see any text messages from ATC when it is minimized. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for this. Although I’m flying the flight factor 777v2 on xplane (insanely great aircraft fyi, it’s more than a match for the PMDG) your video helped get me through my first start up. I’ll continue to use this as a guide until I got it down.

Thanks for your content. Well i’m a real world pilot and have logged nearly 24,000 hours in turbine powered helicopters and fixed wing. I was recently flying the B787 Dreamliner on my first VatSim flight. I choose two airports I was familiar with to help with this flight (KABW TO KPHX) I was using SimBrief for flight planning and the weather was VFR. I filed with no issues and got into the cold and dark B787 Dreamliner. I had already flown it about 70 Hours. Went thru preflight and got ready to call for my clearance. There was no ground,tower or approach so I called Albuquerque Center and requested my clearance. I was told to standby… so I did for 20 minutes or so. After waiting I called them back and cheerfully told the controller I was still standing by. He told me he had already sent it via PDC (Pre-departure Clearance ) Wow I had no idea where to find it or how to use PDC, having never used this in the real world of flying an Air Ambulance PC12 or in a KingAir 200. I checked the VatSim dialogue box and saw nothing. Well the controller was a good guy and issued it by voice to me. The takeoff, enroute and decent phases went great until about 300 AGL on the ILS approach, then it went to H..L. The Dreamliner suddenly dove below the glideslope and airspeed was all over the place. This was an autopilot coupled approach. I immediately disconnected the Autopilot and went missed. I informed the Controller my approach became un-stable and that was the reason for going missed. On the climb out the aircraft started rolling back the engines and airspeed was in the toilet! I told the controller I was experiencing a huge problem and was bailing out. I hit the ESC button on my sim and shut it down. About an hour later I happened to check my email and discovered I had one, from a Supervisor at VatSim and he informed he was disconnecting by Vatsim ID for failure to respond to his repeated in game text messages. I answered his email and explained what had happened and asked him to contact me… He never responded. Here is a suggestion if your planning to fly on Vatsim listen to all these tutorials about it, make sure you get throughly familiar with your IFR procedures and the aircraft you plan to use. Pick a departure and arrival airport and fly that route a couple times before going on VatSim. Good Luck! Thanks Again!

Very great video! I am just wondering how I should connect both headsets. Should the headsets be in USB ? I have 2 same headsets in jack, and I don't know how to connect them on the mother board, it only has 1 connector, the other connectors are weird like line in line out, ... Not sure they would show up both on the computer.

I dont know if someone mentioned it, but when you were on final and getting your late LND clearence, there was some small VFR plane reporting position on traffic pattern (in czech). He was talking quite slow and had poor mic, so the tower just told him to shut and wait, so he could clear you to land. I dont know why but i always find it funny

Hello! During engine start-up my plane doesn't give me the N1, it stays at 0.0 until I put the fuel control on RUN. Why?

3:23 that's the moment i knew i was doing that bad, when i'm in my 737 i used to put the irs on align and put the location and then put it on nav... but is working too!😅

I’m new to it still. So your actually turning the aircraft radio frequency to communicate. Do you have to select a frequency on the V pilot software to communicate also or just the radio?
