In Clik Clak, the girls are dripped with Cartier jewellery and watches from head to waist. Even Ruka's headset has watches strapped to it. The Black and White allows the bling to showcase. Clik Clak jumped to the top as the first release intro track even before the Drip title track which does suggest the Cartier deal was huge. Maybach and Ferrari also got a mention which again spells out money in the bank. Kachink.

Yay b-sides. Their title tracks are amazing but their strength lies in the ability to do all the genres. They've always got at least one song on each album that is slower and more ballad-like for the fans. These are usually where Handong gets a chance to shine more as well since her voice fits the slower more emotional songs so well. As she gets more proficient in Korean she'll get more lines as you move forward in their discography. For the next album, the b-side Lullaby, has a special clip as well, but it also has a new version, Lullaby 2024 Concert Version, that was released last year. I suggest checking out both the original and the new version (no video so just a lyric video for the new one) so that you can hear the growth in their vocals. It's got a different instrumental as well.

I love DC's choreography. They focus on telling stories with the choreo than they do just making a cool dance so it's always really theatrical. It's like something you see in a play or something that a dance crew would do. If you're really interested in the choreography stuff there's a few videos where the Performance Director, Hwang Sooyeon, breaks down how they created the choreography. They're still definitely kpop, just a darker, harder flavor of it. For me they're the perfect blend of heavy and pop. While not a huge fan of pop music in general I do appreciate the more melodic nature of that style of music and have always leaned towards metal and rock that had more melody. So when I found Dreamcatcher they kinda fit a niche that no one else really does and I love them for that. Combine that with 7 amazing women and one of the most diverse discographies I've ever come across and they've become my ult group in all of music.

I absolutely enjoy the prog metal mixed with metalcore, the hardcore breakdown and that very, very BABYMETAL chorus. Also very fan of the pre-chorus (where they quote Shakespeare's MacBeth) and the modulation they did there. But I specially enjoy the second verse, which is an absolute work of art. 🤘🦊

If we would view it as a normal metal song it would be confusing, why do I quote from MacBeth and Snow white andvthe sehen Dwarves? Mac Beth is a serious Story and Snowwhite can be much more than a Disneyfilm Since we are talking about a kapanese perspective a Childlike persöective is not likely. And the original fairy zale is bloody., especially when we look at the song structure.

Su-metal mentioned in an interview that karate perfectly represents this metaphor because it's the only martial art without "ukemi" (the techniques used in many martial arts to fall "properly"). Nice reaction.🦊🤘 'Karate' was the lead single for their second album (2016). It is about fighting adversity, when life knocks you down and everything seems too hard so you're hurt and crying, its about standing up and fighting on, helping each other through the hard times. They used karate to illustrate this because as a Japanese martial art it reflects their culture - as with a lot of their songs it is also about always moving forwards. I see you already got a list of ballads and piano versions.

"Chase me" was their debut, released on January 13th (a Friday), 2017. It must have been nerve-wrecking for the members, re-debuting with a genre that is not popular in Korea after Minx failed. (5 of them were Minx before.) But they already doubled their sales with this. And they stuck with the Rock/Metal vibe until today, now selling 50 times the albums than Minx did. This is the start of the Nightmare arc, which spans 6 MVs and 1 Japanese release. They are Nightmares here, and the Nightmare hunter is trying to dispel them - how that turns out is shown in the next one, Good Night. Their dance costume here is like a shortened Yukata, except wrapped right over left, something that's usually only done for the deceased. Fits well into the horror concept!
