So how do you become a student of magic ✨? How do you study divination? What books do you have to study? What tools are required?
@SeekersSocietyHQ21 сағат бұрын
A fine question, Seeker! The study of magic is no simple path - it demands patience, discipline, and an insatiable curiosity for the unknown. A student of Divination might begin their journey by studying celestial alignments, ancient prophecies, and the ever-shifting currents of the Weave. Tomes such as the Codex of Hidden Sight or the Augur’s Ledger are treasured by seers seeking to refine their craft. As for tools, a Diviner often relies on scrying mirrors, enchanted runestones, or even a humble deck of fortune-telling cards. But knowledge alone is not enough - true mastery comes from understanding that the future is not a single path, but a thousand possibilities waiting to unfold.

So how does anyone finds those spells required in order to transform himself/herself into a younger version of his/her?
@SeekersSocietyHQ21 сағат бұрын
Those seeking to master spells of transformation must study under learned mages, delve into ancient tomes, or seek out arcane tutors willing to share their wisdom. Some spells, like Shapechange, require rare components or deep attunement to the Weave. But beware - magic that reshapes the self is not without risk, and those who seek to alter time’s grasp upon them may find that the price of youth is far greater than they imagined.

Isn't magic wonderful? To be enthralled at the simplicity of a few dancing orbs because you made them, from nothing. It is artistry.
@SeekersSocietyHQ4 күн бұрын
Indeed, it is! Magic has a way of turning even the simplest of spells into a canvas for creativity and wonder. The beauty lies in the caster's imagination, doesn't it? What would you use your Dancing Lights to illuminate? ✨

So how can anyone shape shift himself?
@SeekersSocietyHQ4 күн бұрын
An intriguing question, Seeker! Shapeshifting typically falls within the realm of Transmutation magic rather than Evocation. While Evocation focuses on harnessing energy to create and destroy, Transmutation explores the art of transformation, altering the very essence of form and matter. A skilled practitioner of Transmutation might use spells like Polymorph or Alter Self to achieve such a remarkable feat. For those who have truly mastered the arcane, there is the legendary spell called Shapechange, a pinnacle of transformative power that allows its wielder to assume the form of nearly any creature, gaining their traits while retaining their intellect. The possibilities of magic truly are boundless!

My players had a castle that was surrounded by Orcs. The Orcs cut up a troll into small enough bit to squeeze through the gated stream into the city. The PCs didnt notice and neither did the watch... not untill the troll reformed and healed and went to open the gate. The distraction of the Troll inside was enough to cause many problems even though the party wizard burned the troll to bits. It did not open the gates, but resources were burned up and the lines were spread thin.
@SeekersSocietyHQ6 күн бұрын
A truly intriguing tale! What a cunning use of a troll’s resilience - your story highlights how even the most monstrous creatures can become tools of strategy in clever hands. Though the gate held, the chaos and drained resources must have been a true trial for your party. Thank you for sharing this with the archives; it’s a fascinating reminder of how perilous a troll’s regenerative nature can be!

terrifying thing I read recently. When Mimics are young they can take the form of small objects like coins and jewels. As they age they can even mimic corpses of adventurers.

Ah, Seeker, you’ve uncovered one of the Mimic’s most unsettling traits - their eerie adaptability. The idea of young Mimics posing as coins or jewels, only to later take on the guise of something as chilling as a fallen adventurer, is truly spine-tingling. An astute observation, Seeker! The Nightwalker truly captures the essence of an unstoppable force, akin to confronting a living storm of shadow and dread. Its rarity and myseterious nature make it all the more terrifying - and perhaps one of the reasons its legend remains shrouded in darkness. Few who face such a being survive to share their tale. Wonder what an ettin is bribed with? Having to account for both heads' desire would be difficult. Thanks for the video.
@SeekersSocietyHQАй бұрын
Ah, an intriguing question, Seeker! Bribing an Ettin is no simple task, as their two heads often harbor distinct desires and priorities. Food is a common offering, particularly large quantities of meat or other indulgent fare. However, some Ettins might be tempted by shiny treasures, crude weapons, or even promises of territory. The key lies in understanding each head's individual preferences, as satisfying one but neglecting the other could lead to disaster. Thank you for your comment - it’s always fascinating to explore the complexities of these unique creatures!

The Hobgoblin sage Tunapa famously compared the goblins to sand and bugbears to boulders. He said "Boulders are best used as fortifications and weapons, but sand is a tool used for everything," refering to the versatility of goblins.
@SeekersSocietyHQАй бұрын
What a fascinating excerpt, Seeker! The wisdom of Tunapa offers remarkable insight into the roles of Goblins and Bugbears within goblinoid society. Comparing Goblins to sand and Bugbears to boulders paints a vivid picture of their contrasting strengths and utility. Perspectives like these always enrich the archives.

I've noticed the art is all over the place. Either the reports to the Seekers are all being wildly exaggerated or their are many subspiecies of this creature. The truth is probably somewhere in between. Perhaps it is time to send some adventureers out to seek the truth...
@SeekersSocietyHQАй бұрын
It’s true that the depictions of Ankhegs vary greatly - some may indeed be the result of exaggerated accounts, while others reflect the diverse subspecies found across different regions. Their adaptations to local environments seem to influence both their appearance and behavior, making them a fascinating topic for further study. Your suggestion is well-taken; it seems we must indeed dispatch more adventurers to uncover the truth and provide the Seekers Society with updated reports. Thank you for your insight!

I organize based on politics. And the real world has a rich history of world building to steal from. I give my hobgobs, gobs, and bugbears a caste system reminiscent of the indus valley. The hobs are at the top with gobs at the bottom. Just like India has hundreds of people groups, my fake indus valley has tons of hob, gob, and bugbear families... as well as all the other races, too. Great neighbors so long as they dont have a military reason to take your stuff. But if the hobgob elite die or are deposed, the goblin chaos pours into other villages fast.
@SeekersSocietyHQАй бұрын
An intriguing perspective, Seeker! Your approach to organizing goblinoid society through a structured caste system offers a fascinating way to explore the balance between Hobgoblin discipline and Goblin chaos. The idea of a community thriving under Hobgoblin leadership, yet teetering on the brink of chaos should that order falter, speaks to the intricate dynamics of goblinoid culture. It seems your interpretation mirrors the delicate harmony so often observed in our studies. A remarkable addition to the archives - thank you for sharing!

Playing a campaign as a Fire giant lord, who is trying to unite all giant types together. He's still trying to find a use for the hill giants, since even ogres and trolls are easier to command and control.
@SeekersSocietyHQАй бұрын
A most intriguing endeavor, Seeker! Uniting the disparate giantkin under a Fire Giant lord is no small task. Hill Giants, with their boundless hunger and brute strength, may seem difficult to manage, but it might be possible to channel their raw power effectively. Providing them with abundant food or framing tasks in ways that highlight their physical prowess might prove useful strategies. It will be fascinating to see if such unity can ever be achieved among the Ordning’s fractious kin!

I have done research of my own on this race and figured out how to create a generation of Half-Orcs that are born of a Lycanthropic nature. Imagine a half-orc who was born of an Orc mother and a Wereboar father.
@SeekersSocietyHQАй бұрын
Fascinating findings, Seeker! The notion of a Half-Orc born of an Orc mother and a Wereboar father introduces a compelling blend of strength and primal savagery. Such a lineage would surely result in a being both formidable and deeply tied to the wilds. For such a build Strength:17 +1 bonus to Armor Class(in boar or hybrid form) from natural armor. For the Charge trait, the DC is +8 to the character’s proficiency bonus and strength modifier. The best subclass for this character is the “Path of the Beast” barbarian. For the background, I would recommend the “Outlander” for this character.
