The 1.2m Corsair landing gear on on back order everywhere. We can use the FMS 1400mm landing gear. (Part # FMSSV117BLU. ) You just need to use the provided strut extension washers that come in the bag. Otherwise they fit perfect. The tires are wider , perfect for grass ops. But slightly smaller in diameter. I think it makes them look more scale. They do have smoother action and obvious that they are just better built, in my opinion. Apparently they are on such a long back order cause the strut pins issue and they bend so easily. Lots of people are ordering new ones. So I just went with the FMS gear and they so far have worked out great.
@dradden15569 күн бұрын
Oh also. I checked on the eflite gear. Its on bavk order everywhere till sometime in August. That strut pon problem is so common,ot caused a major back up in ordering new gear. Just info if anyone ask. Thanks for fhe part #s Pooley and all your advise. it really helped me out .

Hey. You wanted to know how it worked out with my landing gear mix brand experiment. So I replaced the Eflite Corsair ones with the FMS 1400mm Corsair gear. Is a perfect but on match. They supplied strut extensions I used. Because even though the 1400 is bigger. The struts are a hair shorter. But with the provided extension,they fit perfect. They are just better gear all around. Smoother action. More robust and wider tires too. Is better for grass now too. Overall I think it worked out great.

I have the 50 also it was probably I'd say my second the f-15 was my first EDF jet and what I realized is that the habu with rudder is so much more precise and flies better but I have so much more trouble landing it well at least I did in the beginning I have figured out a few things since then and can put it down quite soft now but it would bounce like a ball and if I'm not paying attention nowadays and come in incorrectly it will still bounce I find that the f-15 never does that so just different dynamics of aircraft I guess

@Pooley92924 күн бұрын
Funny story I just shot the video for the twin otter today and it is fun but I would say the ultrix is more fun just my take on it though. The twin otter is made out of that super like foam that can't take any pain at all, the Ultrix is made out of the bigger stuff that you can smash into the ground really hard and wipe off the dirt and walk away and fly again. But I would say there's no comparison between the two as the twin otter is a real airplane and flies like a real airplane whereas the Ultrix is a wing and of course can only fly like a wing If you like the otter though I'd say if you get a chance to fly someone else's Ultrix do it you'll love it

Great stunts don't make a great pilot! Save take offs and landings make a great pilot! Question: ever when you switch it to save mode it appears slightly tail heavy to me. If i'm right, fixing this to a little more nose heavy could maybe also bring a little more resilience against the wind. I'm flying for example the Slowflyer- Company's A6M "Zero", a balsa micro Warbird of about 1,5 ounces, 1s 4 channel and it even flies great at windy conditions, but needs the center of gravity further frontwards than on calm conditions. If its more in the back this leads, in the case of my zero, to stally moments if i turn the planes nose out of the wind by ailerons. Maybe this could even work with your Pitts❤

I tend to fly that way in order to slow the plane down as much as possible if I let it go level in safe mode it will fly straight but when a little elevator is added it almost a hover attitude, but yes, the elevator could be a bit off I really don't fly this plane much anymore But every time I do I really don't understand why it's a blast Next time I whip it out I will consider putting a single weight in the front to see if that changes the attitude of things or the way it flies but it's quite manageable so we'll see Thanks so much for the comment and for watching my video

For the video I did not have it yet but after a few weeks or months I ended up going to Lowe's and bringing the hatch in with me and getting a paint match I use the satin finish and it looks very awesome maybe at some point I may be ambitious enough to fill the cracks with some putty or spackling and repainted again but as for now I just covered the spots that were showing white and I'm satisfied with that as I will probably crash it more. I just did the maiden today and it Flys pretty good but I need more trim for the ailerons and elevator. Do you have any suggestions on how to do that? When I'm flying it wants to keep banking to the left and there is no more right trim to give it. Like wise on the elevator it wants to descend and there is no more up trim.
@Pooley92924 күн бұрын
@@HORRUS29 When I'm flying it wants to keep banking to the left and there is no more right trim to give it. If you have given it all the trim to the right that you can and it's still going left I would say stick in a battery good enough for a ground check and see where the aileron are if they are extremely far from center now make a note of that and do a mechanical trim on the white clevis that connect the elevons to the servo linkage on each side of the wing. Like wise on the elevator it wants to descend and there is no more up trim. I fully understand this disposition and know that it is an extremely hard aircraft to fly because you have to give it up elevator all the time it is a miserable flight at best I would say apply the same method for the elevator as above I understand also that sometimes people's text might not be exactly understandable if it doesn't come clear in my message above send me another message and I will do a short video for you just to show you how to fix this

@Pooley92921 күн бұрын
So the flight time in the video is pretty much what you get to get to storage mode anywhere from 4 and 1/2 to 6 minutes get you down to about storage mode and that's what we like to fly to we don't like to stress the batteries out any further of course keeping in mind that this is aggressive flying with a lot of full throttle if you were to be more conservative you could get much more I would say My advice on that would be to take it slow and start out at 4 minutes and see how much you have left and use that as a judge for your next battery and work your way up That's what I do
