Thanks for this, the simplified formula in 3:51 helped a lot. I realized I could actually use variants of this formula to solve the rest of the equations. ex: for the beads and cm questions I did: 306 - 40s = 210 - 24s (s representing segments) Since the solution wanted cm, I multiplied the solution for segments by 5 to find the answer.

you just gained a new subscriber. the downside of khan academy is that it always jumps on practice questions without even talking about the overview context of the lessons, formulas, and key points. we have to do it by ourselves. it shouldn't be a problem, only i'm a little bit dumb so i'm stuck. thank you sir !!

Doing the Khan Academy course, Algebra one 'Comparing linear rates word problems,' spooked me and some people out according to the Khan comments. Looking through the lens D=R*T , I can now transfer the wording into something that I understand.

i tried this method fir g(x)=0.5cos(1/3x+2pi/3)-2 and it did not work finding the period gave me 3/4pi which was incorrect anyway u could walk me through this one step by step? not sure where im getting confused at

The formula for period is (2 pi / b), where b is the coefficient of x. In your equation, b = 1/3. So (2 pi / (1/3)) = (2 pi) times 3 = 6 pi Remember that dividing by 1/3 is the same as multiplying by 3.

She *makes* 13 dollars per shirt, but she *spends* 9.50 per shirt. To find the profit, you have to subtract what you spend from what you make. If I buy a car for $100, and sell it for $200, what is the profit? 200 minus 100.
