I witnessed 2 entities perform alarippu. First entity - The hair. Second entity - The dancer. Hahahaha!

SHIT!!! He did not shave his underarm!!! Does he know what he's doing? His steps are just so exaggerated. Everything - his hair, head, shoulders, torso - are shaking even when he does the most simple step. I think he's trying to make a point desperately. It's always good to keep angasuthan neat, crisp for men unless a more fluent flavour is needed here and there.

hairy armpits are a turnoff...especialy when there are sweat pearls hanging on them or tripping off

"Hey, this guy is good~!" love it! Respect to Master Rajendra.
Excellent comment. I feel though, that the hair, in this particular case, adds to the performance. Maybe the problem is an overall distracting background with the drum-set and black darkness. A huge red/yellow curtain would have uplifted things more. A relief to see a male dancer who is not a female impersonator. He takes care to interpret each and every nuance of the singing painstakingly. Keep it up!

Inform him that it was Lord Natarajan who invented the world and destroyed it through dance. The point of bharatanatyam and odissi and kuchipudi is to dance like a man - there are many examples of that - get a strong sense of foundation and you can make dance a very male thing

Dear AngikamBuvanam, When the passion/desire to learn is too much, you will end up learning despite what your family says. Looking forward to that day :-)

Very good dance, body postures...kudos to you that you have overcome the stigma associated with men dancing...I want to learn but my family says "No hubbie/papa, dance is for girls !"

A beautiful performance indeed. Namaste Master. Glad I finally got a chance to see you perform this great piece in person! I might be the only one but I love the hair! Part of who you are. Can hardly think of you without it! We would be so happy to have you join us at our next fund-raising dance recital for Udavum Karangal. Please give Laurence a call!

overall good...except for a few minor aesthetic things. 1) I would suggest a brighter color costume than black (especially since the curtains are the same color. 2) Your hair should be styled or at least controlled (I used to have long hair, and people have told me it was distracting while I danced when I kept it loose). 3) Please shave your armpits!
