I do think moving Zhao to Book 1 is possible. I think part of it is that I binge watched the series together, and my thought when designing it is that Zuko is the primary adversary at the very beginning, thus "he must be the Book 1 Fire Adversary. However if one zooms out and focuses more specifically at the hard point transitions between books (seasons) you are 100% correct, Zhao's arc ends definitively in Book 1. I'm going to think on it a bit more, but currently based on that thought process I am leaning towards swapping Zuko to Book 2, and Zhao to 1 perhaps does feel more appropriate. Love the episode. But I believe twice you got card that states you can't do more 1 damage that turn. And you did like five. One of them is at 1:14:04

As Toph would say "LET'S BREAK SOME RULES!" lol yeah, totally forgot about that card and I did destroy an adversary when I shouldn't have. At least it was late in the game and those two weren't that difficult to deal with, made the recording go a bit faster 😅

Well, it's there, and it's going to stay there. About the boiler room cards: I've heard that complaint before but I never had any issues. I don't "hold" them at all. I just lay them down on the table and then each time I need them I use one hand to press down the stack and the other hand to carefully move everything. Definitely not something you can just do quickly but I feel like doing it slowly is the more rewarding way anyway. You feel the tension as you extremely slowly move the card, uncertain whether or not Dr. Fright might be on there.

Yeah, that's a good way to do it for sure, will have to try it next time I take on Dr Fright. The crazy thing is that when I hold the cards and do the motion, yeah my hand hurts sometimes, but I like to think that's Fright digging his horrific influence into me. Make me feel pain as I wonder the boiler room 😵💫

Really great video. I like when people rank the locations and killers separately like you have It definitely means you end up giving clearer thoughts on what makes each element shine for you. I've just dipped my toe in recently with Happy Trails and Maple Lane and I'm trying to not move on to another set until I beat each set with both final girls. So Maple Lane is still shrink wrapped. My next set after Maple Lane is probably gonna be Wingward Cottage as I wanted to stay on the classic horror theme for a little longer. You ranked both the cottage and the intruders high so I'm very pleased with that! I do wonder if they are seeing bigger retail sales with sets that have more obvious influences as each successive season seems to have more sets where the influence is a more direct nod to certain films or styles of film. Which isnt a bad thing IMHO. Season 3 is the first season where I really want all 5 sets.

Thank you! This was fun to do a ranking, definitely going to have to do more of these with other subjects in the future. I think having a feature film that relates to an existing IP does help with overall sales. Not only is it cool to see what they do with it, but also how they rename/reimagine those worlds. Series 3 is a BIG example of that, which I can not wait for!

Id love serpentera as a mega figure, kat minx especially since the orange dice barely get rolled. But if i could have one ranger above all it would be TJ as the red turbo ranger. Also gem and gemma as a single figure, like you pilot them together would be fun.

You said as well as the rules, on lvl 1 you can equip 1 item. But you also equip a weapon - doesnt it count as second item?

Weapons and armor are separate from the bagged items, which at this point I can carry only 1. I can have 1 pieces of armor, 2 hands worth of weapons, and a single bagged item, which I’ll be able to carry more of as I level up.

I only have 4 feature films and one vignette so far. But I think Ava is my favorite final girl right now and I am getting a bunch for Christmas so I’m looking forward to that. The Thing is my favorite horror movie so I’m looking forward to station 2891 the most.

I need to play more of the other final girls to get a handle of who o like better. Making ranking list of those would be VERY hard because like the killer & locations, truth is there’s no bad one. Each of them adds something special to the game, and I say keep them coming!

I kind of agree with your list, in general. I definitely share your same love for Wolfe Asylum. Maybe I wouldn't put Hans as #1, though. I like him for the same reasons you do, but he's unfortunately too generic, due to having the burden of being the entry point (I would be totally on board with a Hans Redux with special rules). I'm not actually sure who my favorite killer is. I could say the Poltergeist, as a concept, but then I have the same issues you have with her excessive swinginess. Inkunyamba and Sacred Groves are definitely my bottom choices, mostly because they don't evoke anything to me. I know it's unfair, but their being entirely original creations as opposed to pop culture homages doesn't do it for me, especially in series 1. If they wanted a killer based on African folklore for the sake of diversity, they could have found something better than "vengeful shaman dude targeting tourists" (I mean, the Mummy is right there, but there are also amazing modern African movies like Saloum).

I did have reservations about putting Hans at #1, especially because he is just generic killer, but it caught me that he's the one I played against the most. Honestly, any of those top 3 could be my number 1. I'd like to see horror movies that are based on African folklore, even if one is Inkanyamba's "story" of sorts. There's lots of material to work with, just need someone to make it.

Seeing as how I only have hans and krampus I’d have to say that they are my top two final girls. But I think spearmint valley is a phenomenal “feature film” even if it isn’t really final girl. That game is final girl through and through just Stardew valley.

HAHA See! Exactly what I mean! And that’s all good, I’m actually VERY happy about that because he’s still a great challenge for the game. Should specify there are no “bad” killers or locations, in fact it’s so diverse there’s something for everyone in this game. Inkanyamba is a totally unique creation (at least I can’t pin point any horror influence on him), so Van Ryder can do whatever they want with the story. Even having a Final Girl be a key part of it! I may not like playing against him, but man his lore is awesome.

I get your point about some things being frustrating but I think that's the whole point of them. Some maps may be more to the taste of certain people but in the end I think that they are trying to encourage different playstyles. So in some maps you have to focus more on running around, in others maybe on searching, in others to force you to accept the fact that victims are well, just gonna die. And yeah, some styles might be more enjoyable for some people but there's a reason for them.

Oh I 100%+ agree with you! This list is pretty much my taste in games, and how enjoy each one of the killers and locations. I should have also said that NONE of these killers or locations should be considered bad, they each bring something different to the game that keep me coming back over and over again. But yeah, my number 1 can easily be someone else’s bottom of the barrel, and I think that’s what makes this game great. It covers a wide area of play styles, so there’s bound to be something for some to enjoy.

I got a few N64 games I’d like to revisit for this series, they are just a bit longer to get through then more retro games. It’ll happen though (I did already play Pokémon Stadium). You definitely should replay this game, I think you’d get a kick out of an “infinite ammo” run 😅

I feel like two cool set they could do and that it could also finish a lot of team would be one set call trinity or tri which would be a box consist 2 ranger team of three which would be jungle fury and Ninja storm. And for the second box would be ally pack 5 which would consist of 5 ranger which are Mystic Force Gold, Jungle Fury White, Rpm Gold, RPM Silver, and Omega blue. That way with two box they finish Ninja storm, Mystic force, Jungle Fury, RPM and Omega Ranger.

Seriously, 7 years has been a LONG time for a game to continue to put out new content and really not change anything about the core mechanics. Yeah things were added here and there, but the game is pretty much exactly the same now as it was back then. Super impressive!

100% agree! There's just SO MANY things we can make with it, even more then just within the Power Ranger Universe. I'm sure we'll be able to make foot soldiers and villains too, so I'm thinking of other IPs that I can create.

For stretch goals, I actually want more monsters. The five that I want the most are: 1.) Shellshock 2.) Blue Globbor 3.) Impursonator 4.) Snizzard 5.) Scatterbrain. I also really want Serpentera! For rangers, I actually really want the Super Mega Force Rangers.

I’d be more than happy seeing additional “monster of the week” enemies, some great ranger moments going up against certain beasts. They can even all still be from MMPR, your list shows there’s still plenty to pull from. But if not, we can make them ourselves 😬

Rito definitely draws six cards with Stumbling Fool. You don't draw those bonus cards during setup. That's an important thing to remember. You only draw them once Stumbling Fool actually resolves on a villain turn during the battle, not during setup. During setup you draw 4 like normal then start the battle. You draw the extra cards when Stumbling Fool triggers and resolves, and only then, meaning that would put six cards on that line, and also that you can avoid them being drawn entirely if you have a way to defeat Stumbling Fool before it resolves. However it's best to let it trigger if you can take him out entirely in one battle. I've done so several times and I've heard Jonathan Ying mention that he intentionally made Rito the only boss you can beat in one fight to demonstrate exactly what a fool he is. I actually really enjoyed Operation Overdrive. Sure, Thrax was terrible, and some of the plot points were ridiculous, however not really any more so than tons of other Ranger seasons. I rewatched it like a year ago and it's actually a ton of fun. The Rangers are quite enjoyable and entertaining throughout the season. The biggest problem is that the finale is one of the weakest and most nonsensical in the franchise, an enormous anti-climax to an epic universe saving quest that lets down all the hype they'd built up for the Corona Aurora over the season. However that doesn't change the fact that nearly everything leading up to it was very enjoyable. My guess would be they shot all their budget on Once a Ranger and had to scale back the finale. It was worth it to get Tori and Adam back.

I should have a link in this video’s description. And I’d be happy with Wild Force too (though my animal themed wish is Jungle Fury).

Just checking this out now and yeah if it is for sure the end I would blame the over pricing of things, this is something that really kills games, lets be honest this game is meant for people 30 plus. Most parents will not spend 100 plus bucks give or take for a a pretty barebones experience and when they see like 40 different extra things to buy yeah that is an issue. I love it myself just thinking about the average kid who would want it. I am excited for it myself will be backing I couldnt back the last couple.

You know, that’s another good point. Figuring out who exactly this game is marketed towards is a big factor to its success. WE are more than happy to buy it, but like my 5 year old would have zero clue what to do. Parents even may see the IP and think “oh, my kids like that, I’ll buy it” not know the age limits. Yeah, lots of reasons why I can see the end, but over all, I’m okay and embrace it.

That’s the only thing that worries me about the fan made stuff. The characters put out by Renegade are all basically Johnathan approved. Fans can do what they want, so it’s hard to judge how well a fan-made creation will do in the actual game. Either way, it’s going to be a fun time. Can’t wait to see what that kit actually is!

Renegade does have that giant kickstarter box on sale on their websites, and it come with all the things in from the original campaign. Goldar, Zedd, other minions, rangers, that box has a LOT in it.

@@MD-et8kz I'm not certain I'm following your problem. You can just buy the Deluxe Kickstarter Box in of itself on their website without anything else. You don't have to buy the core/base Heroes of the Grid game again. The Deluxe Kickstarter Box holds only the original KS stretch goals/extras.

I want Casey Jones Ranger Wildforce? Maybe the auxillery zords there? Theres SO MUCH I WOULD WANNA SEE

I’d also be curious if the auxiliary Zords would have any unique abilities 🤔 Like a standard power OR one that’s better but can only be activated should you have the Megazord.

So sad to see the game end however so glad to get the creation kit so it isn't really over at all. I personally didn't start getting into Heroes of the Grid til last year. Why? That's when they put Kendall into the game. When I saw her on an expansion box I bought that set literally the same day before even getting the base game. I went about tracking it down afterwards because having Kendall meant more to me than actually being able to play the game. If I didn't get it I'd still have a tiny Kendall to sit on my desk so I'd be happy. Everyone has that ONE Ranger they love far more than all the others. I'm lucky that Kendall was officially released and thus justified me buying everything else. However tons of people aren't so lucky; they didn't get their favorite released. No matter how many people love Tommy it is important to remember that literally EVERY SINGLE RANGER is someone's favorite. Someone grew up with every season and fell in love with that season's cast - no matter how much OG fans claim some of them suck, a kid somewhere loved them ALL; to some kid every season is the thing their brain defaults to when you say 'Power Rangers'. I'm an OG fan myself so it does well to remember that plenty of people grew up with Samurai instead of MMPR. To them you say Green Ranger and they'll picture Mike. That's why I love this release. The creation kit lets any Ranger become possible. And everyone deserves to have their favorite in the game. I look forward to the day when the fanbase is able to make that dream a reality.

You’re absolutely right, every ranger is important to someone, and it would have been amazing to see ALL OF THEM in the game. At least with the creation kit, we’ll be able to do that and more. So excited to see what everyone makes, and maybe even changes what currently exists. WE will make this game true to its name: Eternal
