A nice video, but with a few inaccuracies. At 3:19, you mentioned that we can see flooding. The picture is of the Washington City canal which opened in 1815 and was filled in by 1872. It ran past the Capitol briefly and down what is Constitution Avenue toward the Potomac. Additionally, no federal buildings were harmed during the Civil War. The closest Rebel forces got to the Capitol was the attack on Ft. Stephens, which is behind the present Nativity Catholic Church in NW DC. This is a good 5 miles away.

But did you know that they do not decompose. That our ravine is full of them, now it's plastic garbage. The streets of the city are full of them, but no one uses them. Our planet has no interest in collecting the plastic waste that trees watering bags create. But you have no interest in the environment, and this is very bad.

I have a tree blackgum told to me by a tree guy, it grew on our hill, next to a cherry tree that eventually fell in a storm, it has the little leaves that I mistook for cherry, it has the beautiful red coloring, it has the similar bark it is a older tree I woudl say 60 years old perhaps? yet only some of the branches are horizontal most are upright like a maple tree, so now I am confused. are there varieties of these or hybrids?

Very well done. I have been an arborist since the 1980s. It is hard to find good videos about pruning. SO many videos are half true and encourage a Band-Aid mentality. Your video is good, for sure. I have subscribed and will share this video. I am in rural northeastern California. Where are you? Thanks, Michael. 🌲

Thank you for this video. I came to this video because I wanted to further understand John chapter 15 in the Bible. When you said that pruning makes it so that energy is focused onto another branch (or another part of the branch) that made sense to me.

@@MrLapro01 Seeds are available on e-bay. As the US irradiates outgoing post, only buy from US sellers that will foil wrap the seeds. Alternatively, I have successfully germinated seed grown in Hungary, Slovenia and Portugal.

Can the fruit be saved by freezing?
@bentleycomputer23245 жыл бұрын
Yes absolutely. They go bad very quickly once off the tree, 3-4 days. Freezing is suggested.

Hello.can i plant 2 paw paw about a foot apart? i dont have alot of land?
@freshlaundry39455 жыл бұрын
Hello -- Not an expert (AT ALL), but have some experience. I'm in zone 5b, northeastern Ohio. Have a 12 x 25 plot dedicated to nine paw paws, four of them five years old, five of them 1 year old. Be patient. The older ones seemed to be just clinging to life for 2-3 years, growing massive roots, I guess. Then they took off!! Grew so fast you could practically see it. They all started 2 ft tall, one of them now about 12 ft tall, the others 8 ft. The big one will have fruit this year, I think. I'm sure I've read this: Forget about 1 ft apart. Plant two trees and a stake in the same hole. They aren't self-fertile, so you'll never have fruit if you don't have two varieties. Space-wise, sounds like you have no choice. I say, go for it! Now! No time like the present. They are beautiful trees. Very important: Mulch, mulch, mulch, let it extend as far out from the trunks as you can. I use plain straw, and pile on dead leaves in fall. Keeps the weeds down, feeds the trees, worms, and all the good bacteria,

@@freshlaundry3945 Thank you so much, i am in zine 6B and have a little less the a 1/4 acre in the city, u figure i will plant fruit tree instead of shade ones, the only space i have is in the front of the house where i planted 2 sweet cherrys in 1 side ; i figure that way i can prune them easy and keep them at about 15 to 20 ft. tall, i am glad i fou d somebody that had deal with them i wan them because it remains me of a Mango tree i am from the tropics take care.

zone 5 is borderline, but put it in a sheltered location and you shouldn't have a problem

I've grown them successfully in Wisconsin Zone 4b through 25 cold Winters. The worst that can happen as did in 2019 is no flowers because the buds were frozen by a -38ºF polar vortex during the Winter of 2018-19.
