My gosh, I had such a similar experience with feeling out of sorts, out of the rythmn of the year. I travelled briefly just before Christmas and got home on the 24th, tired. Then migraines, and world issues, and lack of energy and so I just put up decorations and didn't do many other observances. I seem to have needed this down time, because a few days into January things picked back up again. I hope you and your family and home are safe. I am watching the fires daily from across the world, and it's so worrying.

I agree with that not all witches are wiccan, and not all wiccans are witches, but there are Wiccan Traditions where Witchcraft and Wicca are so interconnected it hard to separate the two, i was part of a Wiccan Tradition that really magical training was really the focus for the first two years, then the thrid year you begin to focus more on the religious side. Wicca really is a diverse group, many Wiccan Traditions don't believe in things like the Wiccan Rede or Law of three which makes since since Wicca was created in the 50's and the Wiccan rede and Law of three did not become popular untill the 70's and 80's. I have European friends who's Wiccan Tradition looks more like Traditional Witchcraft and have very little in common modern American Eclectic Wicca. I would say labels and definitions of these labels are really a individual or Tradition based thing, people can use the same label and mean two very different thing.

I was raised protestant, left the protestant church, started the witchcraft journey last year and then felt guilty so I signed up for the RCIA classes this past Fall as I was discerning on joining the Catholic church and here I am embracing what I am and what truly makes me happy - I am a witch and so happy to be free from organized religion.

I watched this, as an outsider - a non-witch, who found your videos through tarot and like your energy - after starting your response vid and thinking 'I need to see this documentary'. I don't know the first thing about your craft but it was evident, even to me, that some of these people either liked having a label attached to them, or were treating it like a hobby rather than an integral part of their life as you seem to. The 'baby witch' as people referred to her in the comments was a poster child for adhd, but even I, who know nothing, raised an eyebrow when she read the instructions out loud for the cinnamon spell and then did the exact opposite, and played fast and loose with the ingredients of the spell she was doing. I'm not hating on her - everyone has to start somewhere and maybe the cameras made her giddy. As an actor myself I know how much the nerves kick in when the director says 'action', but I did wonder why an obvious beginner seemed to be the focus of a documentary representing an entire group of people from a tradition/culture/craft/religion? (sorry, I don't know the correct term) that goes back centuries. My only thought is maybe authentic/established witches aren't so willing to be public given the long history of misunderstanding and persecution, or the makers of this film found them through social media and friends of friends rather than spending time doing actual research and finding people who are authorities on your craft to speak on it, and I don't blame you for being pissed off.

I came here after watching one of your tarot videos, and decided to learn a little bit about witches, because while I'm not one, I'm interested in peoples stories and points of view. Decided i'd put on one of your videos for company while I trim one of my tarot decks because I liked listening to you and admit I had a chuckle when you said several people have said that to you before. You seem like a lovely person with a beautiful warm energy dishing out some solid advice that's applicable to anyone from any faith about kindness, minding your business and not judging others. 💖. Re being noticed in the tarot community - i think part of it will be posting consistency, and a very big part of it is having clear searchable titles. Think like a newbie - what would you type in to find out how to read tarot. People like The Brynth (who I learned from) does a daily tarot pull and a few minutes talking about that card. That might get you on the radar? And a basic video per card would get hits from people, like me, who are learning, who look up each card when they get one, and then want to delve deeper into understanding how to make connections. Unfortunately I think you need to play the game to get in it just because of algorithms. I know you're not a collector, but posting flip throughs and reviews of the decks you have would also include you especially as so many people like to look before they buy. Best of luck!

Oh I love this series. (And that wind chime in the background!!) I have owned every style of BOS imaginable. None worked for me until I hit on the index method. I 've always wanted to create one like yours, with dyed pages, kind of a junk journal style, but even this beauty you've created doesn't solve the problem of a limited amount of space to add a specific topic. What if 5 years from now you discover 3 more herbs that need space? Anyway, loved this video!

Much as I love the witchy, leather-bound books of shadows and grimoires, I settled very early on, on ring binders. I have a collection of 8 or so small ones, each is for a particular theme (poetry, planetary magic, herbs, deities, class notes etc.) and I can easily add to and rearrange them without any tears. I started with just two or three, and as my practice has grown, so have the binders, and the number of binders, and the granularity of the sorting of their contents. I do the same level of decoration as you do - enough to not make me feel pressure - so it doesn't look so much like a school notebook, but for me the main point is that the information be accessible, easily added to, and easily rearranged.

I do ring binders as well because I am a bit of a perfectionist. I made fo leather on my binder though with tissue paper, ink and mod podge. (Note my binders do not have slots on inside. They are just plain and solid on inside and out)

No hate here. I thought the main character didn't understand witchcraft at all. I'm sure she could be a wonderful witch with the correct guidance and or self education. I think you have made a wonderful video here to the best of your ability without cursing words being used 😂. Much love to you ❤

I like searching through my book because it allows me to constantly connect with each page (whether it is the page I’m looking for or not) just by touching them one by one as I flip through. It makes me feel closer to my book.

Grimoire of a Green Witch is my go too as a solitary. Ann Mouras Green Witch I-III are good as well but I have found that the Grimoire is the most useful of the grouping. Like many I believe there is a Wicca foundation but lends itself and is written with solitary witches in mind. As my practice grows I find I use my Book of Shadows with my art magick so I am a little slow to fill it. Often I wonder if I am “doing it right” Witches whose authenticity shines through often verify yes in fact I am. I appreciate that you are one of them

Thanks for this breakdown. I've started doing readings for others and have been inspired by how Jennifer Walker Zen always uses the 9-card box on her channel. It seems like a way to take the pressure off of people to ask specific questions AND because her readings always fit into ~15 minutes it also seems to be a spread where you can be succinct but still thorough. I find that many of Ciro Marchetti's decks read well both in shadow and in light, ex. the Gilded decks and the Tarot Grand Luxe. They pair well with his Oracle of Visions for clarification too (and I love his artwork).
