@shredvisionfilms I'm from San Diego originally and the furthest I've ridden is from SD to Flagstaff to visit a family member. I did zero weather checking. Wound up riding up the mountain on my ZRX1200R through sleet and snow in my joe rocket ballistic perforated textile jacket and jeans. I had regerts man.... I had regerts. The dumb things we do in the early days of riding ... lol

@@darrellwynant6092 That's a wild ride and I have definitely been in the same situation a few times haha. Never fun in the moment, but always funny to look back on when you make it home. I've been caught in the mountains many times with just jeans and a leather jacket and had to make my way to shelter. A few of those and you learn its always best to have a proper waterproof gear when more than one day from home. Stay safe out there!

Hey thanks for checking out my Alaska Adventure and glad you could enjoy the trip. I use a few different cameras. Sony A7IV SonyA6500, Dji Action Cam 4, and Dji Mini 4 pro drone. On my action camera, I had a universal mount with a vice grip on it that i can connect to the front of my helmet, or my handle bar when not in use. I would hold the actual camera to show the different angles that takes a lot of practice. The shots when the camera was above or behind me was filmed with my drone. Takes years of practice to develop the ability to feel comfortable doing these shots, and a lot of trial and error to see what works for you. Thanks!

I also agree that a BMW is looking really nice for long trips like this. I was even saying the same thing as I saw other bikes and was having anxiety about my chain issues. Hey thanks for checking out my Alaska Adventure! Yea I have usually been pretty lucky when I have been visiting the PNW over the years and always consider myself lucky when I do not catch rain. I ended up catching quite a bit of rain toward the end of the trip and got rained on in the PNW on my return route. It is a wonderful place to be, and one of my favorites besides my home state of California. Take care!

haha yea I love my Husqvarna 501 and that is my favorite bike, but for the long distance travel, I always thought the BMW and bigger KTMs were the cool bikes for knocking out long miles. Thanks for stopping by and appreciate the comment.

No oil change on this trip. I usually change at 5k or 6k, but the versys was fine to let it go a little longer. In Prince Rupert I added just a touch of oil to top it off, but otherwise it is good to go the distance. Usually on longer trips it is rare I will change it on the road. Thanks and ride safe!

Hey thanks for stopping by my Alaska Adventure. As the summer got later they became worse, but nothing any worse than a Michigan or Wyoming Summer that I have experienced. I went early June, and there was still some snow on the ground, so I think July, and August would of been worse.
