8:23 Since the Type 59-D tank has only one headlight (the other light next to it is IR), the entire headlight assembly is usually canted to the left a little bit to maximize the amount of light emitted directly in front of the tank. In other words, it is compensating for the missing headlight that is usually on the other side. If you closely examine a few 1/1 Type 59-D tanks, you will see this detail. The Trumpeter Chinese Type 59-D with Reactive Armor, model number 00315 got it correct but it is a much cheaper tank. Nice Hobby Boss model, the weathering is subtle and realistic. 💯 8:38 The coaxial machine gun should be on the same horizontal plane as the main tank gun. They are mated or fixed together and so the machine gun is elevated and depressed along with the main gun. The machine gun is not an independent gun like the 12,7mm on the loader's hatch. FYI.

You could do a satin finish as well. I've seen many Norinco tanks (some in foreign service especially) with what looks like a satin or semi gloss finish which could be a faded gloss from the factory. Not every nation uses flat because they know that gloss will dull considerably after a week or two from sunlight exposure. As for fighter planes, it depends on the era, but a lot of modern fighter jets are glossy and smooth. Believe it or not, but flat and/or matte paint has a rough texture that creates a lot of friction and air resistance on airframes, wings and ailerons, so smooth and shiny is better *and faster*. DO YOUR RESEARCH 😉
