I hope you recover soon. I understand how traumatic that can be. I was in a car accident (I don’t know how to refer to it since nothing was broken and no one was hurt but we still went in circles on a high way and ended up in a ditch) and I am still very anxious while in cars so I can imaging how scary a car can be for you after actually being injured. Hope you get through this quickly! ❤

@@OnlineSupport22 ah thank you! I wasn’t in a car, I just tripped and fell really wrong. This was two years ago, I’m fully recovered now. I hope you (psychologically) heal from your accident, that sounds terrifying! I’m glad you’re okay.

This was fascinating and I loved it. I guess somehow the 4❤️ was forced, but I can’t imagine how, and I think all the cards on the frame had the 4❤️ showing on the hidden side, but I have no idea how you hid 3 of them before flipping them over! Hope to see you again!

Does this mean that the deck is maximally shuffled after 4 perfect faro shuffles? What does maximally shuffled even mean?! Are like cards as far away as possible in the deck or is the whole deck just complely randomly ordered (which in some cases would mean that is perfectly ordered)?

Nice video. Please do the In Faro math video It's nuts how the stack number of the bottom card is the same as the interval between stack numbers as you go through the deck after some In Faros. There's got to be some juicy math in there somewhere.

i love that she said “a lot of these games are designed so the house always wins,” because it’s not mathematically accurate to say they all are. there are a couple of video poker variants with paytables that have a greater than 100% return to the player, provided it’s played at a high enough denomination, for a sufficiently long time, with perfect decision making. anyway, great performance! i’m glad you got on the show

I have seen videos of faro shuffle before and it how was done. I tried very hard and I couldn’t it, I dropped it. Then after many years I saw your video and the beauty how you explained the math made me try again. You have literally inspired me to the point until I manage to perform that perfect faro shuffle. I do not normally write comments in KZbin but this time I want it to take the time to say a big thanks to you.

So the 4 of hearts is forced is pretty obvious though no clue what technique she did, its just kind of "it has to be a force" And there are only 51 cards on the board, so all the cards are everything but the 4 of hearts. (would laugh if she had used 52 cards and just had a 1/52 chance to end the trick on penns pick making it just impossible to figure out) But what sorcery makes them appear to be the four of hearts before they are removed?, the glass is some sort of special light filter, or the cards have a coating she removes by pulling them tape and flipping them (if that is the case I dunno how she's sneaking in any sleight of hand it looks impossible at that stage) I love tricks where the "obvious" solution is that the magician must be messing with perception completely because I just know someone smarter could probably point out a technique thats 1/100th the difficulty of anything i can think up.

For those of us in the room who're a bit slow, can you break down why the in-faro takes 52 shuffles to restore the original ordering? 😆
@NoquezMagic Жыл бұрын
Of course! It's actually easier to think of in terms of the cycle decomposition of the permutation a la my first video about this (looking at it in terms of modular arithmetic doesn't work out that nicely). Anyway, if you number them from 1-52, the cycle is (1 2 4 8 16 32 11 22 44 35 17 34 15 30 7 14 28 3 6 12 24 48 43 33 13 26 52 51 49 45 37 21 42 31 9 18 36 19 38 23 46 39 25 50 47 41 29 5 10 20 40 27). So that's the list of positions the first card lands in before it returns, and it hits all 52 positions. I hope that helps, thanks for watching my video!
@TheRealDJSigma Жыл бұрын
Cool trick! I wouldn't have figured it out without carefully listening to what Penn said at the end.

If you treat the first position as 0 instead of 1, the math is a bit simplified.

These are my favorites. When I can follow and figure right along with it, but still can’t quite catch it all! I knew when she flipped the board instead of pivoting it around, that was a big part of it. Penn confirmed this with his “unflappable” code. But I think I’m just too lazy to think it the rest of the way through… Penn’s card choice truly seemed free, and all three of their position choices were obviously free… And yeah, I could maybe figure it out in detail, but I’m not gonna try.
