Really nice Expert set for a great price. I was thinking about them, but I have a Cornwell & Proto full sets along with multiple Misc Common sizes. You’ve about talked me into buying them anyway
@Callelle62517 күн бұрын
I almost bought the Expert 3/4 drive bogo last year, Kinda glad I didn't. Haven't run into enough stuff to justify dropping that much for that many sizes. I just get the ones I need when I need them.

I've had the Expert 1/2" SAE set for 10 plus years. Never broke one either.

Those Mac wrenches are nice. I'm not a fan of the spline drive either. It's a shame that Sunex has shifted production to China. Their Taiwan made impact sockets were reasonably priced and good quality. Unfortunately a lot of mid tier tool companies are sending production to China and even India.

Yeah, sunex moved their production to China about a year ago. They are freakin trash now!! Im done buying anything sunex. They haven't changed any of the photos yet on Amazon or even their website either. It still shows the Taiwanese made sockets and swivels, even though these new china sets have been going out for a full year now. I ordered a couple different sets and even though the photos showed the red case Taiwanese made stuff, everything was in a black case and made in China. Adv is exactly the same as the old sunex, they just have bigger numbering and a chamfered drive end. Otherwise, they are the same. Im done with Sunex though!! They are a ton of other great options out there still. Tekton just dropped their impact swivel impact sockets about a week ago. Olsa has a great set, astro has a great set, grey pneumatic has a great set, and a few others. You can even jump on eBay and get some usa made sets for pretty good prices. Cripe distribution has a set of new old stock made in usa pinless impact swivels made by gearwrench. Before they closed down armstrong and moved production to Taiwan. They are literally the EXACT SAME as the matco usa set, just gearwrench branded. They are $180, which is an absolute steal because the exact same set from matco is $800!! You can get gently used usa made sets on ebay for under $200 all day. My almost new 3/8" Drive 10mm-19mm usa made matco pinless set was $120. I also got that brand new old stock usa nade gearwrench pinless from cripe distribution for $180. I even snagged a 1/4" matco usa pinless set on eBay for $200.

Tekton has their version of the zero degree offset wrenches with a fixed and ratcheting side coming out in a couple weeks too. Also, they just dropped their pinless impact swivels a few days ago too. They are also coming out with a 1/4" impact socket set in a couple weeks too. They go from 4mm to 17mm!! As far as a great affordable swivel impact set that does well and is very affordable, the astro impact swivel socket sets are a great!

Matco has a new swivel socket design with Pin that is an improvement from the ADV. Koon Trucking showed them on his channel yesterday on the Matco Truck
@victorhoyt435212 күн бұрын
I saw those!! They said if they do well and hold up like they think they will, they'll phase out the pinless design. They look really nice too. I'm wanting to try them out. They are USA made too by AJ Manufacturing.

@ my MAC Tools swivels are my favorites and I have 1/4”-3/8”-1/2” full sets shallow & deep. I’ve never had any problems with MAC impact sockets/swivels.
@victorhoyt435212 күн бұрын
@@scottaddison8071 yeah, Mac swivel impacts are phenomenal!! They are such great quality swivel sockets and they hold up great!! They are super skinny and short too. Mac swivel sockets are so underrated. Their 1/4" impact swivel set is an ultra beast!

So far, I agree about new China made SUNEX. Not certain but about 18 months ago I bought the SUNEX metric V-groove combination wrench set n the fit on hardware is ridiculous. Waste of $. The new China universals that I have are being replaced by Astro nano universals and Mac/Snap On universal adapters n extensions after breaking too many extensions at the base of the anvil from cheaper brands, Astro (universal adapters)- Pittsburgh impact extensions, ADT n Performance Tools extensions. I may get the Tekton universal sockets when they release. Think I am about done with SUNEX unless it's Taiwan made n I can really examine it.

Sunex just up and threw their whole reputation for making solid impact products out the window with moving to China. It's mind boggling. Their stuff is 50/50 on quality with impact sockets being the one really good product. Sad to see.

I don't understand the "I don't like how it bites", in the salt belt, you want all the bit you can get, spline drive is awesome. That being said, I bought the Craftsman V series long double box wrenches from Lowes for $40 and I'm very happy with them, they just skip some sizes I really wish it didn't (like 15 and 18).

It's too bad Snap-on discontinued the hard plastic handles. Red is my favorite color. I've had good luck with both Snap-on and Mac ratchets. I never cared for Matco ratchets. My favorite ratchet was a Mac XR11FPA 3/8 flex head with red plastic handle. I really want to try a Mac Axis with the comfort grip although the grip looks to be on the thin side.

The axis chrome handle is pretty nice. Haven't used it yet as I don't work in a shop anymore but they feel high quality.

I ordered them through my dealer. Give your dealer the 1/4 hard handle part number and he can see what colors are available. You can call snapon directly too. Also there is a couple people on eBay that sell them in every size and color
