So every commercial safe will have an insurance risk, this is what sets the standards these are called grades. The higher the grade number the more risk it covers. On older safes some are no longer covered and some safes from the 1960s to modern day are still covered as they were adapted onto the list, Some older safes like the one in the video are very well made and we're designed to keep proffesionals out

Lucky enough many years ago to buy these types of lockpicks, so can pick the multistump and dual stump variants easily. These picks have very good indexing, they are also very rigid so you can nudge the levers into gate without worrying about broken tip on tool. Some of the inferior safe lock picks are very springy, as they are made from.piano wire type material.

Love to find a Chub or Tann safe to hold valuable documents. Would have to be fire resistant as well. Remember a vault going into a new high rise building back in the seventies in my home town. We had a chance to see all of the rebar, copper rods, expanded metal grates all stacked in a particular order before they poured a carbide ball laced high strength concrete. The vault was finished vita a Deibold vault door at least two feet thick with time locks, yes three time locks! Go figure banks have the money from all of the fees they charge today however a bunch failed during the housing bust in 2008-9 in the states. They failed to realize that evicting people left an empty property that cost the banks dearly having to maintain water service fees and maintaining the lawns and empty structures. This banks that allowed the owners to stay and pay rent won since they did not have to maintain the homes.

Have you ever thought about using carbide drill bits? We use them in CNC machines, they can drill through anything but they are very brittle so its hard to use in a hand drill as any little side movement can snap them. There are some bits out there that have steel shanks with carbide changable inserts (tungaloy make good ones) and since you are using your magnetic drill stand, it might be precise enough to drill through without breaking.
@MrKelocks
@MrKelocks 9 күн бұрын
@PetesShredder some of these drills are carbide tipped that's OK for a hard metal but they make a composition of Aluminium stone and metal to hinder and slow down, but I do some cnc stiff myself as seen those bits with changeable tips with coolant holes.

Great job, thanks for sharing, 👍 what would have happened if you drilled it and it did have glass?
@MrKelocks
@MrKelocks 11 күн бұрын
@TheIronHeadRat this did have front glass. They can have side glass so that why I looked for it with the scope, but if I couldn't see that I'd have to assume it could have it, it's never a great option to break the glass on purpose but sometimes that the only access you have, so I'd be thinking about moving the safe out to make better access. This is why I always ask for photos of safe showing surrounding area to look at the best approach. There isn't a standard method to open a lot depends on how the safe is situated, the model and grade, and what lock is fitted, both these digital locks are after market locks so not what it would have left the factory with
