I have one. It was expensive. I hate it. Great video though, thank you!

Today in Russia, these lanterns, which are Chinese copies of Petromax, cost the equivalent of 35-40 dollars. You can find it for 15 bucks, when the owner could not figure out the principle of operation of the lantern, and sells it. Petromax lanterns in Russia cost 400-500 dollars, and differ only in that they are made of brass, more efficiently assembled and adjusted. Therefore, if I have minimal plumbing skills, I'd rather buy an Anchor or Butterfly. However, my favorites are the Coleman lanterns. They are more convenient to use, they have brightness adjustment. We don't have Coleman dealers, but i can find a very decent lantern for 90-150 bucks

I want to do this with my 76 335, is it simply a matter of using a 339 generator w/pre heat cup, or do you need to add a straight pipe into the fount too?

I just got a 335 green, I want to convert it to kerosene, now does the 339 generator come with the burner cap or will I need to buy that separate?

You got me. I hung around the entire video because you said you'd discuss your mods after you got it lit. Then..........nuthin. I'll give 3 easy guesses. 1. You wrapped some copper wire around the generator to absorb more heat. 2. You drilled out the gas tip to feed more fuel. 3. You dicked around with the combustion air inlet to get the air intake just right. Anyway, good work getting running. Looks good.

My dad bought one of these a long time ago and when I joined the army, I asked my him if I could bring it with me and I used it almost every time we went out in the field. I love the stove. I haven't used it for about 30 years, and I just found it in a box out in my garage and I plan on using it for bikepacking trips in the Colorado mountains next summer. Every time I use it I will think of my dad, rest his soul. I can't believe how tough these stoves are! The one I have must have been used more than a thousand times between my dad's backpacking trips and me using it while I was in the army.

Sadly, Lancaster Lanterns no longer makes the Night Hawk, hasn't now for several years. The alternative is the HC Lanterns Lightning Bug which was produced to compete with the NH. This was an excellent presentation of the lantern by Pyro Maniac.

I've got the same lantern, and I tried several times to light it up, but it always ended bad XD... I'm using ethanol, maybe the heating times are different? Last time I tried (now I'm stuck without mantles -_-), I used the rapid torch, and the new mantle immediatly went up in flames (like this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZnLYpmljLqDfpo). Thanks anyway, the video was perfect!

SHLM UHaB (peace & love). The Name of the Creator is Hayah asher Hayah, as what He told Mose (Exodus 3:14) preserved in the Hebrew Scriptures. There is a curse to the G-o-d name (Isaiah 65:11-12), preserved in the Hebrew Scriptures. All followers of the Messiah are to do the 7 appointed times (Leviticus 23), but no more animal sacrifices, following the Crucifixion of the Messiah. We are now of the order of MLK TSDQ (King, Righteous), to Whom ABRaHM tithed. Ask the Messiah to be your personal Savior. He is the ONLY way to Everlasting Life. He said to him, I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me (John 14:6). He is the Atoning Offering for mankind for the remission of sin ( 1 John 2:1-2).
