Now - you are wrong, friend. Go to, say 9:15 in vid - lower, left corner - there you go, the other drummer. Let the vid run 15-20 secs , and you will see him briefly. Watch/listen/look carefully - the other drummer is counting the 1-2-3-4, and Pete is actually watching the guy closely throughout the show. Two drummers right here. You will also notice that the other one hits the snare drum when Pete doesn't, at certain times. Find it yourself. Granted, he's hard to spot, photographer focuses on Pete, and a girl with big, long curly hair is covering the other drummer. By the way, I've heard the other drummer is Pete's own brother, not sure. What was it you were saying again? Meh?

How pathetic we all become There is nothing else to say. At least I do not put my febility on video for others to see. He was great in his day...unfortunately this is the night...he should accept that. I seriously adore what he did, and truly appreciate it was part of my youth, ......but Jerry, our 'best before' time was a loooong time ago.

Right where it all started ..not the cavern as most are lead to believe ..I watched an interview with Pete some time back I loved the image that he conjured up of the first silver beatles gig there at the casbah minus a drummer just 4 guitars plugged into amps dressed in black leather ..reminded me of later acts such as jesus and mary chain and the velvet underground !!

The Cavern Club opened its door as a jazz club on Wednesday 16 January 1957. After Gerry Marsden persuaded Ray McFall (the owner) to let him and his band perform at The Cavern Club, it quickly became the centre for Rock & Roll. Punters flocked to see The Beatles, Rory Storm and the Hurricanes there, instead of listening to jazz music.

Back in the day Ringo was absolutely more solid, however these days Ringo has phoned it in on his All-Star band BS where he barely plays anything interesting. Meanwhile Pete Best still shedding, and is playing in bars for the fun of it.

I don’t get all the dissing here. Give him a break, the promise is the early 1960s (or late 1950s?) Mersey Beat sound which he obviously delivers. It’s totally wrong to compare him or the band to what the Beatles (and Ringo) eventually have become. Yes, even his “technique” seems funny, the application of (the same five, tops) fills is plain tasteless, and in general sounds like he hasn’t improved a bit since 1962, but then again: this is authentic and the the closest to how the Silver Beatles sounded like back then. His kit might be placed at the very same spot it stood when they were practicing songs for an upcoming Hamburg trip! It’s amazing to still have Pete around and that he doesn’t try to pretend to be someone else than he is as a musician.

The Beatles have been no more since 1970. While Pete is alive and kicking. I hope he's definitely got compensated for being wronged in the early 1960s. Too late but better late than never, believably...

@@thefonzkisshe was wronged in that he had signed a contract so could not be sacked. His naivette was taken advantage of in him being shifted to another band to make way for ringo. U have to wonder why u sack a crap worker after 2 yrs not 2 months.

@@cruiser6260 because they had just gone to the next level and had entered the recording studio. George Martin said he wasn’t good enough to drum on the albums. Plus the other three were sick of his personality and moodiness. PLUS Epstein didn’t like Best’s controlling mother and only referred to her as “that woman”. Numerous reasons. Do some research.

@@thefonzkiss I agree with all of that having already done the research u suggested. They had not yet gone to the next level yet, they would start all that after touring the US and he was never going to handle revolver, white, sgt peppers and so on. Re being a crap drummer, his drumming was fine for what they had been doing and it would matter even less on the US tour with very short set and drowned by screaming. He could be replaced with a session musician in studio Drumming aside he hasn't got the main selling point of the Liverpudlian accent or loutish antics witty quips and funny faces that mattered more than the music for tv and film like hard day's night and magical mystery tour. He didn't even adopt the cutesy moptop so could have sunk the whole psychedelic and hippy stages. But again that's not HOW he was wronged, it's another reason WHY he was. Legally if he hadn't agreed to go to 'all stars' he could have just sat out and still collected cheques.
