No, it is not common in Italy or France to NOT use toilet paper. They use the bidet after wiping with toilet paper, and not even every time. The biggest reason Italians and French use a bidet is because they do NOT take daily showers. Not sure where this notion that they don't use toilet paper comes from, and they don't even use the bidet after every poop. It's mostly used in the morning to wash up.
@yankamamma5 күн бұрын
Thank you for your comment! I appreciate your input. In the video, I mentioned skipping toilet paper for pee specifically, not for everything, as a way to save money. This is something many Italians might do-it’s just a small habit that helps reduce waste and save a little extra over time. Of course, everyone has their own routines, and bidet use can vary widely. For many, it’s a convenient way to stay fresh throughout the day, whether or not they use it every time. As for showers, I can’t speak for everyone, but most Italians I know do shower daily-just as personal hygiene varies by individual everywhere in the world! 😊 Thanks for sharing your thoughts! It’s always great to see conversations like this that highlight how unique and diverse our habits can be.

Currently reading the book 'Psycho-Cybernetics' by Maxwell Maltz. It explores, in part, the power of Hypnosis and Manifestation and proves that their effectiveness is based on scientific knowledge and evidence. Even I used to be wary of Manifestation and thought of it as pseudo-spiritual hogwash. But now I can understand that it does work and how. Thanks for promoting simple and meaningful living. Namaste. 🙏
@yankamamma20 күн бұрын
That’s such a great book-Psycho-Cybernetics is like a user manual for the mind! 🧠✨ I felt the same about manifestation at first, but understanding the science behind it really changes the game. It's amazing how much our mindset shapes our reality. Thanks for sharing your thoughts-Namaste! 🙏

I know you're showing the issue of overconsumption, but there are already many videos like this out there. I prefer the focus on positive polarity, more tips and judt inspiration on how to live mindful with less things.❤️🔥 ❤️🔥 ❤️🔥 ❤️🔥 ❤️🔥 Sometimes that's better repeated in a similar matter, than judt following a trend. But maybe it helps with clicks/views so good luck! Much love from Europe❣️✨️🏞🙆🏽♀️💚💃🏽

The world is divided into people who are aware of this and who are completely clueless and while the first would probably do their best to reduce consumption the latter won’t even notice the issue.. so let’s focus on the half (which is not the actual half I guess but sadly much less) that can make the difference ✨
@yankamamma20 күн бұрын
True, the world is definitely divided. It's like a giant group project: half the people are doing all the work, and the other half are bringing snacks... except they forgot the snacks and showed up late. ✨

Awesome! I have had the same experience as you. Going from being big city girl to decluttering completely and reduced consumerism almost completely.! I would say that I live a very opposite life from what the modern person is living. How did you get in to this? Me personally, I sort of slipped into it little by little.

Thank you for sharing! Like you, I eased into this lifestyle bit by bit. For me, it started after having my son-I wanted a simpler, more meaningful life with less focus on stuff and more on what truly matters. Each step, like decluttering and cutting back on shopping, felt so freeing! What inspired you to start your journey?

@@yankamamma That is nice :) Just the simplicity of it inspired me. Knowing that I can come by with less. I would say that this is the true path to freedom (I know I sound hippe now ,lol). I feel like it is about being content with what you have. I could bable more about it, however, another day <3 I just started my own YT channel where I want to illustrate/inspire this concept in silent videos.

I don't like spending money on restaurants, movies or "experiences". Because after a few minutes or a few hours, it's over & then you have nothing to show for it. I used to hang out with my friends. We'd drive around, go to restaurants & the movies or concerts. But in the end, I had nothing to show for it. I went home empty-handed. Put gas in the tank just to burn. In a short amount of time, your money is gone, the gas is gone & you have to waste money on more gas. Go to a restaurant, get ripped off because the prices are too high & then be forced to pay a tip to the waiter. Your money is gone, the food is gone & in an hour or two, you're hungry again. Go to a movie and in no time it's over. And you can only watch it 1 time. Your money is gone, the movie is gone and you have nothing to show for it. You'd be better off waiting until the blu-ray is released. Same with concerts. It's better to simply buy the CD and you have an actual item that you can play as many times as you want. I would rather buy physical items that will always be there. I'd rather buy a DVD or Blu-Ray that I can watch over & over again instead of wasting gas to go to the theater to only watch it once and then go back home empty-handed. I can have my friends over for an "experience".
@yankamamma29 күн бұрын
Thanks for sharing your perspective! I totally get where you're coming from-wanting value that lasts and not feeling like your money disappears without anything to show for it. It’s so personal how we prioritize spending, and I think it’s awesome that you’ve figured out what works best for you. For me, I’ve found that balance is key. I used to feel the same way about experiences being fleeting, but now I see them as investments in memories. That said, I completely agree that having friends over for a cozy movie night or sharing a simple meal at home can be just as meaningful-if not more-than going out. It’s all about what brings you joy and fulfillment!

"He has the most, who is content with the least." - Diogenes "The things you own, end up owning you. It's only after you lose everything, you are free to do anything." Tyler Durden, 'Fight Club
@yankamamma29 күн бұрын
Both of these quotes resonate so deeply! They highlight the incredible freedom that comes from simplicity and not being tied down by possessions. Diogenes' wisdom reminds us that contentment isn’t about accumulating more, but appreciating what we already have. And Tyler Durden’s perspective challenges us to rethink the value we place on material things. It’s so empowering to realize that true freedom comes from within, not from what we own!

Quitting notifications on the phone!! That’s one I’ve missed .. in the way I never even thought about it😄 gotta think about it now🫶🏻 We are so lucky we’ve lived life mobileless, internetless etc (or at least childhood☺️ we were so mindful without even knowing it!! Lots of love to you babe Ps loved the point I quit thinking I have to be a perfect mum! That’s one of the most heavyweight things society kindly throws at us❤

Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! 🥰 Quitting notifications was such a game-changer for me-it's amazing how much mental space it frees up! You’re so right, growing up without mobiles and constant internet made life so much more mindful (even if we didn’t realize it back then!). ✨ And yes, letting go of the 'perfect mum' idea is so liberating! Society’s expectations can be so heavy, but I’ve learned that being present and happy is what really matters. Sending lots of love to you too, babe! 🫶🏻💖

14:30 Just FYI, you should use sunscreen on the plane because there's less atmospheric protection from UV Rays! I usually take one of those sun screen sticks instead of the big bottle (can't take more than 30ml and all that) but those packets would probably *only* be useful for that application!

Overconsumption of useless items often stems from trying to fill a void caused by boredom or a lack of self-fulfilment. It’s a cycle of temporary satisfaction that leaves people feeling emptier in the long run. True contentment comes from addressing the root of the void-finding purpose, hobbies, or meaningful connections-rather than trying to fill it with material things that add no real value to life.
@yankamammaАй бұрын
Wow, you nailed it! 👏 Overconsumption really is a vicious cycle, and it’s so true that it often stems from trying to fill an emotional void. Finding purpose, meaningful connections, and hobbies brings so much more lasting joy than any material thing ever could. 💖 Thanks for sharing such a thoughtful insight-it’s a great reminder for all of us! ✨

The reason people make these is because they have commission links which means they make money off of people buying the products from the videos, none of these women actually live like this. Theyre trying to sell a lifestyle of being 'put together' to make money, despite how wasteful and unrealistic it is. Makes me really sad
@yankamammaАй бұрын
You’re absolutely right-it’s so disheartening to see how often this happens. Selling a curated, 'put-together' lifestyle can be so misleading, and it creates unrealistic expectations for viewers while encouraging overconsumption. It’s such a wasteful cycle. I wish more creators focused on authenticity and promoting mindful living instead. Thank you for sharing this-it’s such an important conversation to have. 💖

😂😂 You’re so right-junk drawers definitely don’t need 'restocking,' just constant decluttering! The 'fridgescaping' and hyper-aesthetic trends are getting a bit out of hand, aren’t they? Restocking bins might just be the next thing! 😂 Sometimes it feels like they’re just creating content for the sake of it rather than sharing anything genuinely useful. Thanks for the laugh! 🫶🏻

Ciao from Cape Cod USA...so of course it would not be a good idea for Americans to quit the news, but actually to choose what we watch wisely. I bought my first TV in 1990 and have not watched now since 2007. Re:health...I stopped eating red meat in the 70's and over the yrs... caffeinated coffee, sugar, dairy and most processed foods...still love pasta but also make my own calzones and other flat breads...not even an aspirin in my house and never had a tylenol. I quit many of what you mentioned, negative self talk needs some work.
