Though these scenarios aren't explicitly addressed in this particular video, dynamic Selectors allow us to- 1) Use a *single UI Element object in PAD, to interact with multiple UI Elements in an application, without adding them (individually) to the PAD file. By eliminating bloat, we get more control over performance. 2) Specifically, those selectors that incorporate *variables allow us to interact with elements whose attributes are dynamically generated. For instance, a global element, with no distinguishing characteristics, whose id changes every time the page loads. Dynamic selectors also allow us to incorporate variables into the jQuery. With that, I'm able to store a list of values, add a for-each loop, and insert the current value into an element selector. So, I can target (for example) all input fields based on their predictable ID using a *single UI element in my PAD file: Default Selector for an input field- Static: input[Id=UserName] (then you'll need individual ui elements for the other 20 input fields) or Dynamic: input[Id*=%Input_CurrentItem%] (one ui element for all of those input fields)
