Great video Keith, some cracking images and footage! I notice some of the stills are taken at 700mm, have you bought the new 200-800 RF lens for your R5? Just wondering what you thought of it? I’m still using my 100-500 on mine and still very happy with it but be nice to have that extra bit of reach 😊 Anyway, another great video, well done 😊👍
@KGsPhotography19 күн бұрын
Thanks mate. Still using the 100-500 but had the 1.4x converter on for those images. That gives me the 700mm. I know people who have the 200-800 and really like it, like you say always good to have the extra reach. Thanks again mate, cheers Keith.

Hello. Ccould you tell me what the bird is in this video? I thought it was a Water Rail and the uploader thinks it's a Moorhen, but I don't think it's either. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oGaXmoV8fraApNU
@KGsPhotography28 күн бұрын
I think it is a Moorhen. It is definitely not a Water Rail.
@man.bike.camp.440928 күн бұрын
@@KGsPhotography Okay. I looked up Moorhens and it says the male and female have red beaks with a yellow tip. That's why I didn't think it was.

Hi Keith, I really enjoyed this video, You managed to get some really lovely photos of the Kingfisher. It's my favourite bird and I managed to get a couple of photo's of one at my local pond. Purely on the off chance, not brilliant photo's, but photo's nonetheless. I'm still on the lookout for another one, on my local river and I'm sure that the day will come again for another photo opportunity...😃👍🏻

Remember that encounter Keith, only had one at very close range in a natural setting in the last 40+ years still can remember it as if it was yesterday. The good light also gave it that little bit extra zing on its plumage. 😊

Nice one Keith, great to go Tripodless and go with it, especially shooting 4K Slow Mo video which is much more forgiving on the camera shake front, especially with the IBIS in today's Canon cameras. Some great shots, and the Lesser Whitethroat, not a bird you see everyday! And the Wren what a bird with a strong voice! Lovely video as always mate and good to see you out and about. Cheers R

So I have the exact set up. I noticed when I am at 700 mm and doing a spot focus to get on the focal plan it keeps jumping in and out of focus rapidly. I am not sure why it does this at full extension. Did you have this problem? I am only getting this while fully extended. Any help would be appreciated.
@KGsPhotographyАй бұрын
I don't have an issue to that extent. The auto-focus is not as quick with the extender but once locked on, it seems to do a decent job. I am using Animal Eye focus tracking rather than just spot so maybe that is the reason I don't get the issue.

Good video Keith, I never bother with a tripod, but I do have one, but I've never used it. I sometimes use one of those bean bags for support and the camera has stabilisation built in to it. That's not to say tripods are not useful, there are times that they are...🤔👍🏻

Thanks, Eddie. Yes, there is a time and a place for everything. I also have a bean bag but only tend to use it when shooting out of the car. Cheers Keith

Nice one buddy, i think the shorties home lands had a shocking season for prey due to the rain last year and we had a glut hence the amount we had here. I'm using the 100-500 with a carbon monopod more and more now and only bring the big bertha n tripod out when i'm not walking miles or have a subject i need the extra length with and im sitting rather than on the move especially in the summer months. lovely stuff buddy! JP
@KGsPhotography2 ай бұрын
Thanks, mate. Yes, as I get older, the monopod option takes on more appeal. Tripod is like you say if you're just sitting waiting for a few hours. I think I have got so used to the 100-500 that I have gone off the idea of the really big lenses. Again, age may have something to do with that 😂. Cheers Keith
