Took my, now wife, to see this when it came to theatres in the UK. First watched this EXACT video when we started dating, wanted to go and watch it as our first "real" date, she had a daughter from a previous relationship, so "dates" would consist of parks etc with her and our daughter (yes I said our, she's always been known as mine regardless of biology). Unfortunately it took YEARS.to reach the UK, by which time we'd split Dx, even so I bought the tickets (2x) a year or 2 before it was to show. Asked my work colleague/ then crush, if she'd like to go, but upon people mocking her that it was a "date" she bailed😢. Ironically 2 months before the showing my, now wife, got back in touch and we tried again (she didn't know about the tickets), managed to convince her to let my family to look after our daughter and we enjoyed our first REAL date, years after knowing each other XD. Went for a meal, got "lost" in London 😊and enjoyed the show, could tell she enjoyed it as several of the songs really hit home with her! Long story short, after that date..... everything fell into place, spent Covid with her (isolation) and got married shortly after. Yes Covid was terrible, but for me, it brought me and my family closer together, but it all started for me with "Dear Evan Hanson"!

Ong, I hate Alana and Jared sm as characters, the only justified angry person here is Heidi (the mom), Jared literally helped Evan and tried to act salty despite using Evan this whole time and not being a genuine friend and expecting Evan to think of him as a friend, like…?? On top of the fact that Alana basically made this situation much worse and just used Connor’s death to her own gain and tried to “seem” like she cared and guilting Evan into feeling bad for her because “I know what it’s like to be invisible” like girl, you didn’t know what it’s like because you ignored Connor and didn’t help him and then also tried to act like you “knew” him despite you barely talking if at all. Alana is just another good example of the opposite spectrum of Evan. And it’s crazy because in the end Evan got all of these consequences, but characters like Jared and Alana didn’t.

The Actor was was to Old to Play the Role and they Cut alot of Songs(Including this one) I Would be Down to see an Animated Version with all the Songs and Better Acting. What i'm trying to say is the Movie was wasted Potential But that's Being way More Common in the Film Industry Now a Days which is Sad..

And I couldn’t figure out the whole idea, because Evan came off as a brother but was it didn’t make sense that he was singing a love song on the behalf of some other dude and if he wasn’t her brother than he was singing a love song through the perspective of her brother. I then learned this is some top tier psychopath shit, and dear god. The songs sound so good and wholesome, but learning the plot Evan is just a psychopath puppeting a spirit of Connor
