I run those on my 18 only problem is they aren’t 100% waterproof and over time when I press on my brakes the flash on both sides but otherwise I get compliments. And double rock lites in wheelwells

I have a powerboost, but live in Florida 😎it's already warmed up when I drive. Even so, I always turn the engine on at least for a couple minutes before driving. I feel it can't do any harm to circulate oil and fluids before driving.

5-10 minutes is perfect. Idling is also not good for your engine. But then again running the engine at any capacity technically wears it down thus being not good for it. But it’s also not good to push a cold engine. I warm it for 5 minutes at 0 degrees Fahrenheit and drive it softly until the temperature gauge is almost halfway. Then I drive it how I want

I’ll run a diesel for 45 minutes to warm up in -20 to -40 Celsius. Recently put in a Webasto heater. Now I run the engine for 15 minutes just to warm the cabin. 06 Dodge 3500 5.9 cummins. Northern Alberta
@mikephillips29844 күн бұрын
45 min is crazy though, diesels get plugged up bad by idling. I run mine for 10 min and my mechanic says without some pressure the rings aren't sealing right and fouling my pistons... I won't run it that cold without some time

I absolutely do. If the temps are below freezing I will use the trucks remote start and warm it up. I think that it will run for about 10 minutes. Also in winter climates you really need to warm the engine so that your windshield is clear of frost. Any of us that live in northern states has experienced the sudden frost over of a cold windshield as we drive off. Screw the so called experts , do what is right for you and the climate of the area where you live.

It’s not bad for your truck but it’s not always necessary. I have a 19’ raptor, never let it warm up when it’s like 40* out, never had any problems, it has over 100,000 miles on it and drives like brand new still

There is the argument to be said that you will actually warm up the vehicle faster if the vehicle is being driven instead of sitting idle. For stuff like transmission and diff temps it makes total sense but motor temps idk. I feel like also the bigger the motor, the faster it will be to warm up as I've compared it with my new V8 tremor and my old 4cyl boxer wrx.

Under normal temperatures over 40 degrees I wait till the engine idles down after start up. if it’s under 40 degrees about 5 minutes once it reaches the negatives id wait about 10-15 min mostly bc I’d want to warm up the cabin and I can’t see any harm from doing it 1 week out of the year in nj
