I couldn't see for certain whether the Inperial has the shell bolsters with tabs. I think they introduced those in the 40s or 50s and subsequently used them on most of their knives. So if the bolsters are solid nickel silver then you might be dealing with an even older knife. I'm not an expert :D

@antonycooper9141 yeah ideal for that I think the Ettrick was designed in the early 1800s by Lord Wharncliffe and a gamekeeper for papering and gutting small game but I'm no expert so don't take my word for it haha
