THANK YOU ! I literally just did it few minutes ago. '03 CHevy tahoe here. I start watching your video then stop around @4:35 and went on my parking lot to swap it. Feed back from my experience : I did not remove the speaker. Just peel the plastic sheet from the uper left corner. You'll have easy access. Gotta do that because I'm in France and we don't have easy access to imperial tools therefore removing the speaker was a no-go for me. Took me 15 minutes for the whole process Fun Fact : I bought my part from Rockauto because it specifically said "rear door" but the one I got was labelled "front door". I frowned but, they are, in fact, identical. The hardest part for me was to put the door trim back. There is a kinda cardboard down the inside of the trim that was hard to put back in place as you have to make the hole for the 7mm screw aligned. I managed to get that one screw back but was not able to put the screw hidden by the built in armrest back into position. IMPORTANT NOTICE. My door stop was working perfectly... to stop/hold the door. So why did I need to replace him anyway ? Well that door stop also work as an switch for the PCM to know when all doors are closed or not by being grounded (or the oposite i can't remember) when the door is closed. For a few weeks I had that display showing "rear passenger door open" each time I put in Drive. Which was a lie. It also forbid the car to lock the door when you're driving. That is a safety measure to get this fixed. It can either be a faulty PCM or a faulty Door Stopper. How to proceed to determine who's at fault ? Crawl under the steering column and you'll find a black plastic box with many plugs. Near the firewall you'll find a big purple plug facing down. Unplug it. Start your vehicule and go to Drive. If the message is still displayed it means the PCM is not faulty (as you just unplugged it). Plug it back and replace your door stopper. If the message does not appears when the PCM is unplugged means you'll have to replace it. Have a nice Sunday !

I'm going through this right now. Still 30% attached to the nail bed. Not going to try to pull it off like you are. Waiting for it to finish passing beyond the cuticle, then trimming of the 70% that is flopping around. Thanks for torturing g yourself so I don't have to think about that route any more.

How in the world did you get under there? I was trying to change the resistor out this morning, but found it impossible to get to it after taking out the side panel. Does it need to be on a rack for us big guys to be able to fit there?
@carguy_tmh2 жыл бұрын
I got in with my knees on the ground, and stomach on the floor in front of the seat. It is definitely a tight fit
@coreyo94522 жыл бұрын
Don’t do that it’ll come off on it’s own, another nail starts to grow under it, leave it for a week or two and it will come off while your doing something you won’t even realise.
@carguy_tmh2 жыл бұрын
As I explained in the video, there was a new nail growing in under it. The old one was still attached only on one side which resulted in the nail getting caught on my clothing and other things while working. This was the best option for me.

Thanks for the video! Extremely helpful! When I realized it was the resistor, I hit up Auto Zone and they had two sources for the new part. $50 and $70. I looked on eBay and found a part direct from Haundai (aka KIA) for $17. Got the part in a week and installed it today with help from your video. Works like new! Gotta love KZbin! Very helpful, especially all the little tricks you showed. Good work.

How did you know it was the resistor & not the motor blower?
@carguy_tmh4 жыл бұрын
The blower motor worked fine on high. There was no hesitation to start blowing air, and there wasn't any noise or anything while it was running. My resistor burnt up and was smoking through the vents, and it didn't run when on 1, 2, or 3. If you unplug the resistor, you should still be able to run your blower motor just fine on high, if not, the blower motor probably needs replaced.

Same here. Only after a few minutes
@carguy_tmh4 жыл бұрын
Sorry I didn't see your comment. The resistor only controls 1, 2, and 3 speeds of the blower motor. So if it doesn't work on 4 either, it could be a bad blower motor.

the superhawk has whats known as a half fairing... to get the "fatter" look u just need a full lower fairing... ill admit i do like the looks of a full fairing but the superhawk has a very unique look...
@carguy_tmh15 жыл бұрын
...as any biker would tell you there is nothing more valuable than experience. For a beginner the superhawk is a probably a little too much bike... but that aside, i would just say be extra careful until you are very comfortable with your bike and your riding ability... try to wear all gear all the time... and be very cautious as cars love to pull out in front of bikes... ride safe, and good luck, but most of all have fun!
