Maybe instead of making this video to complain about someone being thoughtful who possibly didn’t understand spend the time donating them to someone - and maybe no more showers

Just have regular diapers for day care and use the cloth at home. It’s not that odd that they don’t want to save a pee or poo covered cloth for ya.

It sounds like cloth diapers may be a minor ask with how you'd handle it. However, the lives of daycare workers can be hectic, high-stakes, and utterly exhausting. They have so much to remember about each and every kid. The little things add up, sometimes to the point where while their attention is on them, they miss important things like allergies, trauma, and medication. Cloth diapers just aren't a high priority in the care of most children. I'm sure that as a parent you know how exhausting kids can be. Please cut other parents and caretakers some slack when it comes to the small stuff. We all have a responsibility to do our best to protect the well-being of children, but no one is obligated to do that by your book. Only you are. I'm sorry if that's been difficult for you. Hopefully, as your kid(s) grow older, things will get easier.

I’ve worked in a daycare, I have the utmost respect and empathy for what daycare workers handle on a daily basis. I’ve worked the 2 year old room with a 7:1 ratio. So I am most definitely not out here bashing workers. I think it’s important to understand though that parents cloth diaper for some very good reasons. For us personally, my daughter had severe chronic rashes with disposables, since we switched they’ve been nonexistent. I as a parent would never want to be face with the choice, if my daughter getting severe rashes or not sending her to daycare. So I say this with the utmost empathy for daycare workers, but also with an understanding of some of the very good reasons parents have for being passionate about this topic

I work at a daycare no way in hell we have the money to buy cloth diapers and clean them, half the time our washer and dryer don’t work. Or we have no staff so maybe just deal?
@HighlandBaby
@HighlandBaby 10 ай бұрын
Oh no! Parents provide cloth diapers always, and you just put the diaper in a wetbag we provide, and we take it home at the end of the day and deal with it. No daycare would ever be expected to provide cloth diapers and it would be huge inconvenience I’m sure

There isn't any additional cleaning. Disposable diapers get tossed into a disposable trash bag.. reusable diapers get tossed into a reusable bag. The soiled diapers simply go in a different bag. The parents clean and launder them.

Um. If you have or take care of a baby, you're going to be touching poop regardless. It's kinda the thing when you're dealing with infants. It doesn't matter if it's cloth diapers or any kind of diaper, really.

Can't cloth diapers still be made with harmful materials?
@HighlandBaby

Cloth diapers are regulated by the CPSC and tested to ensure they are free from lead, phalates, BPA, and more. Additionally if made with natural fibers you can ensure they meet Okeo Tex standards, which are some of the highest standards in the world.

Disagree, the policy from administration comes from a lack of education on the topic. There is no extra effort required on the part of daycare staff, none. 0. Parents who cloth diaper for health reasons, cost reasons, and environmental reasons shouldn’t have to worry about being able to send their child to daycare

I mean we could use cloth diapers we would just have to throw them away. Get a babysitting and don’t put your kids in daycare. We have rules for a reason my dude.

Maybe my video wasn’t clear. Never would I bash a daycare worker. I’ve been one. Implementing a no cloth policy on the part of administrators comes from a lack of knowledge and education on the topic. Parents cloth for a multitude of reasons and should still get access to daycare. Also, with cloth becoming more mainstream (and disposables eventually phasing out in the future) daycares would do well to make an effort to learn

@HighlandFluffCo if everyone did this, every daycare would have to have a sack of feces to send home with every child. Sounds like a logistical nightmare for the daycare 😂😂 should they have a poop shelf? Or perhaps a poop room?

Dude, if the policy of the daycare is no cloth diapers then why couldn’t they say that? Sometimes crunchy parents really do try to victimize themselves.
@HighlandBaby
@HighlandBaby 10 ай бұрын
Because the policy usually comes from a lack of education. There is 0 difference between a disposable and cloth for the daycare worker and there is absolutely no touching poo, scraping, nothing. They simply roll it up like a disposable and place it in the bag. And the issue is that parents shouldn’t have to put diapers with toxic substances on their kids just so they can go to daycare, or be forced to stay home.

Yea sure us diaper babies are alive but do you not remember it was proven baby powder caused cancer? What have diapers done to genitals? So I say cloth it up. Caring abt your children’s future and wellbeing and your effect on earth does not make you crunchy. It makes you intelligent. But no, let’s continue to let diapers litter the earth bcuz cloth is weird and not the norm. How rude to use cloth. 😢
