taking the og L series engine out which is the heart of the classic S30 is a terrible thing and to me the car also loses value,,alot,,,,you want a turbo car buy one.

I love these old Z's. Bought a 75 260z this year and have been loving every bit of it. Still running the original 2.6 L series and boy does it sound and feel great

I love Z..." The Japanese Ferarri" Only...a Porsche 911 in the same era....has the same charm. But a Z Is so much more feindly on the pocket. By far the most enthusiasts car for Sports Car enthusiasts. You can build it any way you want...and its dripping with cool. Im building a 73 240Z and back dating a 78 280Z...pay check by pay check...and am happy I have my Samurai Street Sword...

Great looking Z Larry. I have owned a bone stock 71 240Z since 1976 and will NEVER sell it. In fact, I hope to acquire several more and do some restomods but not ruin the classic lines with fender flares, huge wings and all that other ricer boy racer shit. Question... You state your Z is a 72 but you have a hatch from a 70 (with air vents below rear window). Just curious why the change. I lived and worked in Hollywood for almost 20 years and remember those wonderful canyon roads. One of my favorites was Old Tujunga Rd. It is very popular with the crotch rocket crowd but often "sports car nuts" as well. I highly recommend it. If we didn't live so far apart (I now live in Georgia) I would be happy to give you some driving lessons. My teacher was an old friend and co-worker of my late father who raced Jaguars, MGs and Alfa Romeos during the Golden Age of sports car racing (1950's). Take good (great care) of your car and stay safe Bro.

Thanks for your comment! Larry's car is a 1970 240z, so good catch! I think the confusion is that he starts saying 240z quickly after he says 1970. I'd love to see that 1971 240z in action though, sounds like it's a beauty. Thanks again for your support!

Thank you SO MUCH for this feature. Larry is my favorite photographer, the 240z has always been my dream car and I had NO IDEA he owned one. This is an insightful look at one man's passion for photography and automotive culture, and I think I will come back to this video for many years to come. Along my journey as a pro photographer, this video is a fitting reminder of my inspirations and aspirations.

I actually live 10min from the canyon road you drive on. I feel his passion for the Z. Mine isn't that pretty but I wouldn't trade my Z for the world. I had a crappy 8.50hr job and saved 5k in a year for my Z. Hope I get to run into him one day cruising the canyon. Amazing car

whats the down when you shift 2:12 , why does that sound happen?
@JREXCLIPZ08219 жыл бұрын
it's a blow off valve. most turbo cars have them.

Oh i didnt know that the blow off did that song, so if i add one it should sound like that when shifting? or i need a special one.
@JREXCLIPZ08219 жыл бұрын
+emmanuel cañas you can get a bunch of different sounding ones! just look up videos of blow off valve sounds and pick your favorite!
@chikoloko1359 жыл бұрын
oh you can choose between sounds as well? lmao, and that kind of anti lag makes same sounds(machine gun sound) when the fire is comming throught the manifold and out the exhaust, or i need ignition delay for that, cuz im looking for both the cool (peewhiwhiwhi) sound of the blowoff, and also that annoying backfire sound...

I will say that having one brings me emense joy and pride to say I have a piece of japenese history but just like all old cars they have there temper tantrums. Just like Larry said it's my therapist. I'll sit in it or take a drive to clear my mind. Nothing beats going to the garage to see the silhouette of the long nose and slick back. if I was to give you advise rust is a huge problem with them and if you can find one with little to no rust jump on it. It will thank you in the end!
