MÅNEMANN MÅNEMANN don't get a monologue it's a toy if you want a decent Korg synth the micro Korg is good I did all comparisons and went with the Bass Station 2 and just bought the Roland SE-02 I own the Volca Keys and Sample and all Volcas are good gear

the monolog runs on batteries and here's some advice whatever synth you chose if analog they pretty much have the same parameters if you are not familiar you will be out of sync and tune in no time you tube research helps a little it took me 2 months to fully understand the oscillators the modulation mixer and the filter envelope then there's the arp and step sequencer lol if you have any questions I would be happy to try and give you an answer...

Yeah you shouldn't take my word for it since I*m so new to this, but the overall impression I got is that even if you get one of the Volca series and later upgrades to a bigger/better synth, you'll still find use for the Volca to combine it with the other one. Look up DreamsOfWires here on youtube where he combines an Arturia Minibrute SE (which I'm looking to buy at the moment) and the Volca Keys. Just fantastic sound!

Yeah that's the picture that I've gotten from people. And besides.. having two synths only gives you the opportunity to play different stuff at the same time :) That's cool! I got a Korg Krome that I want to combine with a real synth and I will also use the MIDI so that I can use the keys on my Korg. But I would recommend you getting a synth that has keys, because then you don't have to be depended on having your digital piano with you all the time. The Minibrute that I'm looking at has a mini key, which is great because it means I can bring it up anytime I get an idea and just play with it, and not have to rely on my Krome which is too big to bring along. What synth or module are you looking at?

Ah okay, well then it doesn't matter :) I do want to say that I wouldn't let the price tag determined the synth I'm buying. I do have a much smaller budget than you, but I've also heard that the biggest rule is "does it sound good, it sounds good no matter what anyone else or the price tag says". So that's why I'm going after some cheaper models but still looking for quality. And I'm so new to it all so I don't want to spend like 2000 dollars for a synth that might sound the same to me as a 500 dollar synth. I'm also building up a home studio so that's also why my budget is a little low.

I know how it is, but a synth for like 500 dollars isn't a toy, if you choose wisely. I've been looking into it for a while and there are tons of great synths under 1000 that even pros use. If the synth sounds good to you, then it's the one you have to get. Doesn't matter what other people think since it's YOUR sound and YOUR creation.
