This is not my creation, but I think this would be a better option for most people who don’t want to attempt removing the back. I went with this option because my tank was already established and planted, and I didn’t want to disrupt anything.

I suggest that you remove the stop that is sticking out of the bottom of the wood, and making it awkward to place down on the ground. Instead, change the wooden hook at the front into a U-shape. So that once it springs back up, it is grabbing both sides of the rack tubing and thus preventing it from moving forwards or backwards. Other than that, great job - nice woodwork.

One thing to point out is that I read that higher voltage rated caps don't necessarily last longer if that higher voltage isn't used. I read that they are more likely to leak or something like that. So using higher voltage cap than necessary may not be a good thing. You would have to research this more though.

I have this Mesr100. It's accurate if you don't change the leads. You have to keep the original length. I tried all kinds of solutions because it's so cumbersome to use sometimes because of the leads. I solved all of these problems by getting a Bob Parker blue esr meter. No problems with long leads.

@motleypixel3 ай бұрын
No, my unit is still running good. I do use 90 octane ethanol-free gas and always run the carb dry (turning the gas lever to off and running the washer until it dies). This sounds like a classic small engine carb issue to me.
@robertozaeta18643 ай бұрын
@@motleypixel I have the same issue. It turns on and runs when the wand trigger is pulled . But as soon as I let go of the trigger the machine shuts off immediately. What is a small engine carb issue ?
@motleypixel3 ай бұрын
@@robertozaeta1864 small engine carburetors are prone to gum up and clog, esp. with low grade, low detergent and esp. ethanol blended fuels. The internals (float needles and tiny bores/passages) get clogged or sticky/gummed up. The float works under load demand but when you let off the trigger it needs to float back down and not choke/flood and kill the engine. Have you used only ethanol free gas and have you run the carb dry until the machine turns off every use? I'm seeing a lot of this and I think I should put this in the very beginning of this video to emphasize the importance of these 2 things.

@@motleypixelyes I am using ethanol free gas...it starts but when you move the choke to run position it stops
@motleypixel4 ай бұрын
@@ms.whinestambayan okay well that's good because if any ethanol mix fuel used generally causes issues like this, esp. if a run of ethanol mix w/o running out the fuel in the carb and then stored over a season, that's a sure ticket to an issue like this. FWIW, I use only ethanol-free gas and I also run the carb dry by shutting off the gas lever and running the washer until it dies. What you are describing is very hall-mark to a "gunked" up carb as it needs more choke to pull fuel through the carb. If you can't figure it out, then I'd take it to a small engine repair shop to fix it.

I just learned that it is not recommended to use teflon tape or any inhibitor of a GHT washer. The reason GHT fitting leak is due to the washer not seating correctly due to teflon tape or other inhibitors preventing the seal. I took all the teflon tape off my ght fittings, out new rubber gaskets in the female ends and no more leaks

I just both the same pressure washer from HD. I am wondering if I have a lemon or not but I am having issues starting the unit. After I run water through the high pressure hose I have al lot or resistance trying to pull the cord to start. I have to hold the trigger to let water flow freely through to release the resistance to start the unit. Is anyone having the same problem?
@motleypixel4 ай бұрын
This is normal. What's not normal is the unit not starting. Ensure the start/stop switch is in Start/Run, ensure the spark plug wire/boot is firmly pushed in/seated onto the spark plug, ensure you have a good amount of good fuel (recommend ethanol free), ensure the gas knob is turned to the on position, ensure the choke is in the choke position. You have to pull the cord firmly and quickly and if it starts to run you have to quickly turn the choke off. If you are too slow doing this and the unit dies then you have to relive the pressure in the hose, keep the choke off this time, and pull the cord again. You can't pull the cord if the action of manually starting or engine starting and then dying occurs because it turns the positive displacement pump which builds up pressure in the hose. Good luck.
