there is a plethora of empty houses available in japan for cheap money, the only thing that is expensive is renovating them since a lot of them are empty for years and are slowly rotting away

There’s also an option to buy a doll house and call it a day. Or a pet house, made out of cardboard boxes. I’ve heard it from my fellow Sukonbu that they’re very practical building materials for residentials.

The most expensive bit? Its literally would be the most worthwhile purchase bae has ever done. Unless you literally get conned into buying a piece of crap. Its totally worth it to buy a house on the land rights alone.
@firstnamelastname843918 күн бұрын
Not in Japan. Houses depreciate in value thanks to earthquakes and inheritance laws. IIRC one of the JP members bought a house for their family, and their conclusion was, renting cost the same, and was a lot less work.

@Heatranoveryou20 күн бұрын
is buying a house not cheaper than paying rent? all that money spent paying it doesnt vanish you can sell the house.
@RoseBrassSarah20 күн бұрын
It is cheeper in the long term if you have the money then and now to reasonably buy a house, but if you don't or if your not in a stable position where your going to be somewhere for a long time it isn't worth it. Also if you want to live in a city which doesn't have dense urban housing or the ability to buy an apartment renting might be your only option. Some people really don't like living in not densely populated areas since there can be social and economic benefits to living in cities.

Renting is better for those have to travel for work or whoes jobs gets them transferred alot.
@ShiraLiao19 күн бұрын
There's more "privacy" having your own house, sound-wise. At least if there are good enough distances between the neighbouring houses, you can play loudly with fewer complaints than usual. Unless you have unreasonable/power hungry/ hearing sensitive neighbour.
@ShiraLiao19 күн бұрын
Some nations has plot/ground/land/field taxes depending on the size, quality and place. But that tends to be lower than renting, but do your research on that.
@Anderkent19 күн бұрын
depends how much you will spend on the house. also in japan the housing isn't really considered a guaranteed investment - they keep house prices down pretty effectively by building a lot, so it won't necessarily be worth more in 10 years than it is now you might be better off renting and investing the money you'd pay for the house instead
